PERSONAL MEMORANDUM
TO: Wing Commander, Emperor's Hammer
FROM: General Johaan Kane, ISB Liason Officer/Imperial Intelligence, ISD Avenger, Emperor's Hammer Strike Wing
RE: Divine Wind/Rouge Imperials Status Report
In accordance with your recent request, I have compiled all available data from my sources and databases at the ISB Headquarters on Coruscant. Following the latest encounter, as detailed in your last Newsletter (No. 11), with the Divine Wind and Rouge Imperials (Admiral Zaarin's Defectors), I am convinced that some unknown entity within the Board of Directors at Cygnus Spaceworks is funneling classified military spacecraft, ordinance and critical information to the Rebel Alliance. As we saw in Battle No. 9, the Rouge Imperials were apparently well equipped with Cygnus Spaceworks craft including the Assault Gunboat and Missile Boat. In addition, the defecting Imperials also had access to Advanced Concussion Missiles and Advanced Proton Torpedoes. This could be prove to be a significant threat to the Empire.
Additionally, there may be a personal motivation behind this unauthorized and highly illegal redirection of Imperial equipment to the Rebellion. My family, the Kane Clan of Corellia, has long been at odds with certain factions within Cygnus Spaceworks. This "clan feud", as it has been called, has lasted over 50 years and originated during the early part of the Clone Wars. My father, Duke Malcolm Kane, trusted friend and adviser to the Emperor since he was a Senator in the Old Republic Senate, apparently sold tainted supplies of ryll, a highly addictive and very dangerous recreational drug, to enemies of the Cygnus ruling family, the Kruls. These enemies then apparently devastated several Krul production facilities including some 16,000 dead workers who died from ingestion of the chemically altered mineral...Unfortunately, my records are incomplete regarding the identity of these opponents of the Kruls and my father has not been forthcoming regarding additional information. In any event, I have excellent reason to believe that one or more Krul family members may be enacting a personal vendetta for past wrongs allegedly attributed to my family's former wartime merchant operations.
With the Rebel resurgence in the past few years, the Krul family has ruled the Cygnus Spaceworks Board of Directors, chaired by the Patriarch of the Kruls, Lord Ulysses Krul. Little biographical or historical information is available regarding the Krul family...
I will immediately forward additional information regarding this matter as it becomes available...

In addition, the Wing Commander would like to extend welcome to one of our newest recruits, General Speciali, FLT MBR/Speciali/Iota-I/MIS, to the Emperor's Hammer. This officer previously served as a Sovereign Protector in the Imperial Palace. For an, as yet, unexplained reason, Emperor Palpatine has decided to transfer this pilot to the Emperor's Hammer...
The following description of the Imperial Royal Guards and Imperial Sovereign Protectors is presented below...This information was taken from A Guide to the Star Wars Universe, Bill Slaviscek, Del Rey/Lucasfilm Ltd., 1994, pp. 227-228:
Imperial Royal Guard
"The Imperial Royal Guard is a unit of specially selected Imperial soldiers who serve as the Emperor's personal guards. Only the most promising soldiers who fall within the required size, strength, intelligence and loyalty ranges are chosen for this duty. They are trainined in the use of a wide range of weapons and unarmed combat styles, and conditioned to obey the Emperor's will and protect him with their very lives. Imperial Royal Guards wear flowing red robes, helmets and full body armor."
Imperial Sovereign Protectors
"The highest ranking members of the Imperial Royal Guard are called Imperial Sovereign Protectors. Like other Royal Guards, they serve as the Emperor's personal body guards. Rumors abound that these elite soldiers are empowered by the dark side of the force. At least one Sovereign Protector is at the Emperor's side at all times..."
Finally, the Wing Commander would like to herein announce his acceptance of affiliation with two other AOL online TIE Clubs. I would like to point out that I will not be joining any other TIE Club in an administrative or pilot position so as to remain faithful to the Emperor's Hammer. Consequently, my membership in these other organizations shall not detract from my primary responsibility to the Hammer (i.e. I will only be designing storylines, plots and new missions for the Hammer...).
I have recently accepted an invitation from a Member (DK LRD VDR) of the Warrior's Guild - Brotherhood of the Jedi to aid the efforts of the Dark Side as a Dark Adept/Advisory Member of the Dark Council...I will acknowledge acceptance of this position by signing my name in official correspondence with the designation "Dark Adept". I look forward to resuming my training in the Dark Side under the Dark Lord of the Sith...
In addition, the Wing Commander has accepted the high honor of being named to command the new Emperor's Hand Council (under the Emperor, of course), which is to be comprised only of existing TIE Club Leaders and "exceptional" pilots personally selected by the Emperor...This Council will be instrumental in developing all online TIE ideas and provide an open forum for the various TIE Commanders...In addition, the Wing Commander is considering opening a separate Section of the Newsletter for Emperor's Hand developments and ideas. It should be noted that the Emperor does not accept petitions to join this group...He will seek you out, if he finds your performance satisfactory...
