EMPEROR'S HAMMER TRAINING MANUAL RELEASED!
The Wing Commander and Training Officer (Mstr Jdi) are proud to attach the new Emperor's Hammer Training Manual to the Members of the Hammer. This manual contains current general information on the structure, Positions, Ranks, ID Lines, entrance requirements, Sub-Groups, ships in the EH Fleet, etc. ALL Members are strongly advised to read the Training Manual, even veteran officers. In addition, this document will be uploaded as a separate file to the AOL FSRC Club Files Area so as to be accessible to all potential Applicants. The independent posting of this document will leave more room in the biweekly Newsletters for other current, non-repetitive information...Please see the File Archives Section of this Newsletter for file name information...
I would like to thank the Training Officer (Mstr Jdi) for his writing of the first draft of this file and the Flight Officer (Ketri7) and Prefect of the Legion (Learjet35A) for their input in their areas of expertise...

BATTLE SCHOOL

Battle School is a TEMPORARY school were ANYONE who has Tie Fighter can participate.In this school you will hold no formal rank. This school is NOT its own group, but, in fact,will help other groups. It doesn't matter whether or not you are in any online Tie groups because all this does is help hone your Tie skills.Whether you are a top ace or cadet,this group is for you.There are two courses of study:
1.Tactics=You learn to fly missions that require more brain than brawn
2.Dogfighting=You learn how to blast your way out of any situation.
YOU MAY ONLY CHOOSE ONE COURSE OF STUDY AT A TIME!
You are able to do both but you may only be in one at a time. In each group there are four ranks. They are cadet, private, flt.cadet, flt.leader. The course lasts three weeks.The object is to fly as many missions and fly them as well as you can in the period of time given. We keep an overall score that determines your rank and the difficullty of the missions you fly. Awards are given at the end of the three week term depending on your score. The main awards can only be achieved after you have reached the rank of Flt.leader.
Here is a list of the awards:
1.Tactics:(least to best)Crazy Tom,Alai,Ender
2.Dogfighting:Fly Molo,Petra,Bean
A new class will start every week. Each class will consist of a maximum of ten members.Those at the top of their class will be publicly recognized on the fsrc message boards.Now comes the important part. WHEN YOU GRADUATE YOUR NAME, SCORE, AWARDS and RANK WILL BE SAVED. IF YOU CHOOSE TO JOIN AN ONLINE TIE GROUP (EH or EAW) WE WILL SEND THEM YOUR BATTLE SCHOOL RECORD AND THAT WILL (hopefully) PROVE THAT YOU AREN'T JUST THE AVERAGE TIE PILOT. IT MIGHT BE THE DECIDING FACTOR BETWEEN YOU COMMANDING A SQUADRON OR SOMEONE ELSE. For those of you who are already in a Tie group,and are ranked FLT LDR or higher, will not start out as a cadet unless you choose to do so. Be warned though, YOU CAN FLUNK OUT IF YOU DON'T PARTICIPATE EACH WEEK.

The following are the functions of each person:
RA Geddes=Head of school (same duties as a wing commander)
ScotP=Head of the Tactical division. Reviews all new tacticall missions
and sends to me for review.
Mstr Jdi=Head of Aggressor Training (dogfighting) division. His job is the same as the TH (tactical head)
BAllen23=Head of the cadets and privates in the Tactical division.
Coelis=Head of the Flt.members and Flt.leaders in the Tactical division
Marok=Head of the cadets and privates in the AT division.
Rouland=Head of the Flt.members and Flt.leaders in the AT division

Please note that Geddes, as listed above is currently only a General in the Emperor's Hammer...If the Battle School catches on and effort is put into its maintenance to keep it going, the Wing Commander MAY bestow the appropriate promotions...
BATTLE 25 PLOTLINE APPROVED FOR THE EMPEROR'S HAMMER
The Wing Commander and Tactical Officer herein present the approved Plotline for Battle 25 - Conquest, created by FLT MBR/GN DanMan/Theta-1/SSD Avenger

Battle 25: Conquest
General Plot: An ISD class ship is going to subdue a small industrial world
rich in minerals and ore. On the way, Rebels attack the ISD which must be
defended by its starfighter squadrons.
Mission 1: Pickup
To pickup supplies from a storage yard, rebels are in the area but force is
unknown.
Mission 2: Transfer
The ISD must make a transfer to a different hyperspace route, pilot is to
safely see the ship through because it is deep in enemy territory.
Mission 3: Ambush
Rebels ambush the ISD with an Interdictor and two Strike Cruisers. Escort
Transports, Corvettes, and Y-Wings are sent to destroy the ISD. Must defend.
Mission 4: Attack
ISD gets close enought to planet to launch ships. Escort transports,
shuttles, and Gunboats to their Hyperspace point.
Mission 5: Recovery
Escort the attack craft back to the ISD.

This is to add some specifics to the plotline I submitted:
ISD will be the Conquereor
The planet the strike force will be attacking will be Corellia because of
their aid to the rebels by selling numerous Corvettes class starships.
Squadrons:
GUN Theta (1 Ship)
T/F Beta (2 Ships)
T/I Gamma (2 Ships)
More plot:
The Corellians have signed on with the Alliance and so called "New Republic."
The Empire must stop this because this will give the rebels the oppurtunity
to upgrade the fleet of starships and possible launch an attack on the
remnants of the Imperial fleet, i.e. The Emperor's Hammer. A small strike
force consisting of an ISD, 1 Gun, 2 T/F, and 2 T/I. The planetary assault
squadron will consist of: 5 GUNs, 5 Tyderian Shuttles, 3 Transports, and 3
Escort Transports. Their goal will be to disable all starship manufacturing
facilities so the Empire can take them over with more troops (Idea for Battle
26?).
I hope this clarifies the Battle some more. The original plotline, I admit,
was vague.

NEW MEDAL AWARDS POSTED
The Wing Commander has decided that, to be eligible for Battle Medal awards, interested pilots are asked to complete, at a minimum, ALL of the Primary Goals in each Mission (just like the game, completion of the Primary Goals is required to advance missions) at whichever difficulty they prefer. Obviously higher difficulties translate into higher scores for posting on the Battle Board. The mission performance files (i.e. film clips/*.clp or pilot/*.tfr files) must be submitted to your individual Squadron Commanders for review and recommendation regarding Medal awards and possible promotions following completion of ALL missions in any given Battle.
One point must be stressed regarding submission of mission performances clips and pilot files...Please direct these submissions to your individual Squadron Commanders rather than myself...The Wing Commander can not spare his time and efforts from the Newsletters, new plots and missions for these reviews...Subsequently, your Squadron Commanders will be making periodic recommendations for Medal Awards "on behalf" of the Member seeking a Medal (i.e. a nomination...)...
