Unfinished Business

by: FO/AD Havok/CS-4/SSD Avenger

The day aboard the Avenger was uneventful. Cruising in hyperspace with the the Colossus and the Vanguard in diamond formation on the way to the Aurora system. The bridge was lightly manned and some of the higher ranking officers were swapping old mission stories with the junior officers on the deck.

"...and a huge fireball was the last thing I saw!", exclaimed Admiral Moldman.

"Yes. I have witnessed many of those in my days.", was Grand Admiral Ronin's reply. The group all chuckled slightly as they each remembered their own such occurance when they were pilots.

The sound of rythmic, metal on metal, footsteps interrupted the moment and all turned to see Vice Admiral Melan Pyr emerge from the walkway and head for the group.

"And just what are all of you conspiring about?" Pyr asked as he approached the group gathered at the con.

"Just swapping old war stories and lies." Rear Admiral Jac grinningly answered.

" I figured as much." was the reply. "Where are the rest of the command officers?"

" Well. Admiral Breil'lya is working up our attack strategy. Admiral Shawshank is over at the communications console overlooking a new trainee. And no one has seen Admiral Havok in a couple of days." explained Fleet Admiral Adams.

Grand Admiral Ronin, as if on cue, relaxed and stretched out with the Force, probing for Admiral Havok's presence. The action suprised the other Force sensitive standing in the group, but the others only watched in awe.

Somewhere in the bellows of the Avenger, Admiral Havok was working. When suddenly.....

:::::Havok. What are you doing?::::::

:::::Sir, I am assigning our new recruits to their squadrons. We lost many pilots in the Hast Battle.::::::

:::::Take a break and join us on the bridge. Time is an asset at the moment. Your duties can wait:::::

:::::On my way:::::

Admiral Havok deactivated his console, walked halfway across the room, and stopped. Something is not right, he sensed as he turned to pick up his disruptor beam rifle. The armed stormtrooper guards outside the door had the normal thought patterns expected of a person that had endured the rigorous training, but there was something else, close by, that didn't fit. "You stand relieved Lieutenant." Havok spoke after he activated his helmet comm link. "Yes, sir". was the reply. Footsteps faded down the hallway. "I hate when he does that." said one of the guards.

The door opened with a snap-hiss and Havok headed toward the turbo lift that would take him to the bridge. A labyrinth of hallways and elevation changes in the enormous Super Star Destroyer seperated him from his destination. An ambush could be around the next turn.

"Drop your weapon!" said a voice from the rear. "I've finally found you. You will pay for your crime."

The rifle hit the metal floor with a clang and Admiral Havok turned to face his aggressor. "What crime is that? Who are you?" he said starring down the barrel of a blaster.

" I am the only surviving member of the Thomark. You should remember what you and your crew did to us! Now, revenge is mine."

" Ah, so you were aboard that escape shuttle." Havok said as he probed his memory back to the time he worked as a pirate hunter. "Captain..... Wells, is it?"

" Good memory Kreeayt. But it will not save you now.", Wells said as he started to tremble.

Admiral Havok sensed the anger coming to a boil in Captain Wells and saw the pressure begin to build on the blaster trigger. "You cannot win. Even if you succeed in killing me, how are you going to escape?"

" Escape to me is irrelevant. My goal is to see you di........."

A Flechette Missile is a dart shaped projectile about 110 millimeters in length. The anti-personnel version contains clusters of tiny darts. When fired, it explodes on impact, releasing its cloud of deadly darts. A Flechette Cannister launches the projectile, which was what was newly attached to Admiral Havok's body armor.

The sound of hurried footsteps grew louder as a squad of stormtroopers responded to the noise. Stopping directly behind Havok, no one uttered a word.

The rifle, still on the floor plate, rose up to Havok's hand as if someone had activated an electro-magnet.

He took aim at the body of his victim and fired. The sound was deafening and the flash engaged the helmet blast shields of everyone in the corridor as a visible blast of energy left the tip of the diruptor rifle and struck Captain Wells. The body flew apart as if a thermal detonator were activated from within.

Admiral Havok turned and resumed his journey to the turbo-lift as the squad of stormtroopers spread apart like the Earthen tale of Moses parting the Red Sea. Not until he was out of sight did they turn their attention back to the area where the body once lay.

".....we need a maintenance droid to level XP-321 ASAP.", reported the squad leader.

"What happened?", came the reply.

"You don't want to know. Just send the droid."

On the bridge, the mood remained jovial. As Admiral Havok made his entrance, all noticed the empty cannister on his shoulder and the heat still rising from the end of the ominous looking rifle.

"What the heck were you shooting that thing at? Needed a bigger office, did you?" Rear Admiral Jac jokingly asked.

Grand Admiral Ronin could sense the anger dwindle away as Havok chuckled and slapped RA Jac on the back.

"No. I just blew the door off of your office. Remember my promotion party in the Officer's Lounge, and you got so juiced up on Novarian Grog that you forgot to deactivate the lock on your office door and walked right into it?"

A roar of laughter filled the bridge from the group gathered around the con as Rear Admiral Jac grabbed his nose and said, "Yeh, I remember, thanks alot."

Ceremonial Dress Uniform

This is an example of the display of medals in Ceremonial Dress Uniform. I have used my own case to demonstrate where I'm going with this.

Such uniform would be worn on very special occasions, such as the Grand Admiral's birthday celebration, or during a reception for a foreign dignitary.

The lapels may be worn either turned down (as depicted) or buttoned to the neck.

The shoulder boards have been left blank pending any decision in the future regarding their form. For now, the white complements the dark grey of the uniform.

The gold braid distinguishes Elite Emperors Hammer pilots from standard Imperial Pilots. The EH pilot will undoubtedly interact on a daily basis with less talented comrades, and this will afford him or her added respect in such instances.

Note that in ceremonial dress, the Dark Council Medallion is permitted, and the DB Rank insignia appears as well. In this instance however, I have dispensed with my Dark Jedi Cloak, in the interest of displaying items near the shoulders that would have been obscured. It should be noted that Dark Jedi of the rank of Adept and above are permitted to don their cloaks over their uniforms in standard and ceremonial dress.

Medals are displayed in full, and Second Echelon Merits, in this case an Imperial Cross, are worn about the neck.

Not shown are the length of the jacket, boots or the stripes on the trousers, which in my case would be purple, signifying a rank of between RA and VA.

Side arms are not permitted on occasions in which this uniform would be worn. However, members of the Dark Brotherhood who are of the rank of Dark Jedi Knight or above, are permitted to carry their light sabers at all times. This reflects the depth of trust that the Grand Admiral has in the Brotherhood. Of course the Grand Admiral retains the option of suspending that privilege without prior notice, and for any reason.

My heart leapt into my throat as the Klaxon siren woke me out of a deep sleep. No matter how many times I hear that thing it still affects me the same way.

"ATTENTION ALL SQUADRONS, ATTENTION ALL SQUADRONS!!!" It was Fleet Admiral Adams over the shipwide net. "SCRAMBLE, SCRAMBLE"

Is it a drill? No, if it were, as Wing Commander I would have been informed. Or would I? Is it a drill to test Wing response time? Maybe. Are we under attack? If so, who, how many and how close? All these things run through your mind at light speed.

I jumped out of bed and quickly dressed into my flight suit. Bolting down the already crowded corridor I came across General Daniels. He had taken over Sigma Squadron after my recent promotion to Wing Commander of Wing II. He'd been a valued Flight Leader to me and we'd been through alot of close ones since transferring to the Emperor's Hammer.

"So what's the deal sir?" questioned Daniels as he tugged on the zipper to his flight suit. "Beats me Commander! I'm sure we'll find out when we get out there." I replied.

Just then, something rocked the Avenger, slamming everyone in the corridor to the floor or against the wall.

"What was that?!?!?" I thought to myself as I quickly attempted to right myself and continue to the Flight Deck. Daniels was already to his feet when the second blast came. This time a pressure conduit ruptured spewing a cloud of gas and debris. The shrapnel from the blast caught two crew members as they were trying to get up from the first blast. They were both thrown against the bulkhead as if they were rag dolls.

As I reached the position where their bodies came to rest I was instantly aware that there was no hope for them.

"Guess I got my answer, sir. This ain't no drill!!" exclaimed Daniels as I caught up with him.

"What ever gave you that idea?" I said, trying to make light of our situation. We were in a quick jog now as we reached the door to the Wing Ready Room. I could see by the number of flight helmets that were still on the shelves that some of my wing had already deployed. That was good and bad. What were they up against? I was starting to feel like a mother hen ever since I took this Post as Wing Commander. Well, I guess that just comes with the job.

I quickly donned my flight helmet and headed to my Defender. Information was already being transferred from the flight control techies to the Command Com-Link in my helmet.

I luckily caught it at the beginning of the Sit-Rep. "The Avenger is under attack. Repeat the Avenger is under attack. This is not a drill. All Command and Flag officers be aware that the Avenger had just exited hyperspace and immediately came under attack by two, I repeat two CRS-80 's and multiple escort ships. Be advised we are at point blank range with one of the 80's and are currently exchanging heavy cannon fire. More information will follow"

"Oh yeah, this is gonna be a good one" I whispered to myself. I hopped into my Defender and began quick startup procedures. The flight crew was just finishing loading the advanced torpedoes as I started her up.

"Flight control this is Wing Two Leader requesting departure clearance" I called over my radio.

"Wing Two Leader, you are clear, launch sequence initiated" came the reply from the Flight Control techie.

Just then the bay door opened and my Defender was cleared of it's mooring.

Meanwhile on the bridge of the SSD Avenger, Grand Admiral Ronin was on the Command platform overlooking the CIC.

"I want a Status Report!!!" exclaimed the GA who himself had been jolted awake by the sound of the klaxon.

"Sir... As you know we are proceeding to present a show of force in the Outer Rim sector as a reminder to all who oppose us. We are traveling without escort and just finished our second hyperspace jump. As we exited hyperspace we walked right into a Rebel gathering. We currently have a CRS 80 off our port bow that is unloading everything she has on us. Shields are holding but are down to 87%. We are returning fire at this time. I have ordered all Squadrons to scramble and will give them assignments when they form up." stated Fleet Admiral Adams while not turning away from his console.

"Admiral Talon... I want ALL port batteries to fire at will on that 80" the GA commanded as tactical readouts began pouring into his command console.

"Sir the second Calamari Cruiser is well out of range of our cannon's, and it looks as if their escort ships are moving in to engage us as well." said the Commodore. "All port and forward batteries fire at will!!!"

"Adams... I want that 80 taken out first... she's the most immediate threat to us right now. We'll deal with the rest later." barked the GA.

Ronin shook his head in disbelief. He had heard it before. Out of the infinite possible jump points in the galaxy, it was statistically possible that one day you will exit hyperspace only to find that you have parked yourself off an enemy's bow. Of course anything is possible, the GA knew, but who would ever think it would happen to them.

The GA clutched the platform railing as his eyes darted between the tactical displays and the view out the bridge windows. Ronin weighed his options "We are alone in the face of a formidable force. An SSD against a CRS 80 is not a problem, but two of them, six frigates, countless corvettes. This is a.......challenge. Well, I'm always bragging about the overwhelming might of the EH. I guess it's time to prove it." he thought.

FA Adams made his way quickly to Ronin's side. "Sir... I don't think this is a trap. They haven't launched any fighters or bombers yet and our Wings quick response time gives us a slight advantage. I think this is just as much a surprise to them as it is to us."

"Agreed!!! We must exploit the only advantage we have at this point. Commodore... what is the shield status of that 80?" said the GA.

"49% sir and dropping as we continue our bombardment" answered the Commodore.

"Excellent!!!! Adams... when our Wings have formed up I want you to have them ignore the CRS 80 that is engaging the Avenger. We will deal with her ourselves. I want them to concentrate on clearing out some of those escort vessels before they can launch their fighter craft. Also, have engineering do what they can to reduce the amount of time we need to regenerate our hyperdrive. I want to be able to get out of here in a hurry, if necessary."

Approximately 2K off the Avenger's rear quarter I was attempting to create some order out of the chaos that defined our departure from the Avenger. When a Wing deploys it is usually a planned event where your Flights and Squadrons are assigned to leave the ship at a certain time and fly a particular pattern until the entire group has assembled. We didn't have that luxury on this occasion.

I selected the Wing II command channel on my radio. "Squadron Commanders. This is Two Leader. Form up your squadrons on my position and maintain close formation. We have orders to maintain this position until we are formed up. Let me know when your Squadron's are assembled"

"This is Coelis...Rho squadron is on scene and standing by."

"Buddy here... Kappa is formed up, awaiting orders"

"Daniels here... Sigma is assembled."

"General Katarn calling Two Leader, Omega is standing by"

"Hunter to Wing Commander. Theta's good to go, let's get at 'em!!!"

"Funaro checking in. Psi Squadron's on line, just give the word sir!!"

"All right lets keep alert out here. Wing II Commander to SSD Avenger flight control. Wing II is assembled and awaiting orders."

"Confirmed Wing II Leader. Be advised you will be contacted momentarily by the XO. Avenger out."

"Received Avenger" I replied.

The entire process took no longer than a minute, but in a fleet battle every second lost could change the course of a battle. I decided to check in on LG Primum, the Wing Commander of Wing I.

"One leader, One leader... this is Two leader. What's your status?"

"Two this is One, my Wing is together and awaiting orders. Veelon, you got any bogies showing up on you sensors?"

"Negative One, I think they decided to sleep in this morning!!!!"

"Keep in touch Two Leader. One out."

"Roger that One Leader."

Just then the priority command channel lit up on my Comm display.

"LG Primum, LG Veelon." I linked the channel with the Wing II open channel. " This is Fleet Admiral Adams. We have a very serious situation here gentlemen as you can plainly see. We've walked into a firestorm and there's only one way out. LG Primum, I want your group to engage all craft in sector 215 through 280. I'm transmitting the data now. LG Veelon I want your group to engage everything in sector 190-215, this will cover to the edge of Wing I's area. Gentlemen I want you to concentrate your firepower on the vessels that can launch Fighter support and Bomber groups. We have the advantage as they have not been able to launch any craft yet...but be assured they will if we don't shut them down first. Our collective back is to the wall gentlemen... Make us proud!!....Adams out."

"All right, you heard the man let's get to it" I explained.

Back on the Bridge.

"Grand Admiral Ronin... The CRS 80 has altered course in an attempt to escape. Her shields are down to 14%. She's crossing our bow...." Admiral Talon was cut off.

"Commodore. I want every weapon system on this Super Star Destroyer targeting that Ship and ready to fire on my mark!" GA Ronin exclaimed with an evil smirk on his face.

"Aye Sir... All stations prepare to fire on the Grand Admiral's signal" ordered RA Talon

Ronin looked on, not at his computerized tactical display, but out the front window of the bridge. All weapons systems on the Avenger stood silent as if preparing for one violent eruption. The Grand Admiral watched as the wounded Calamari-made vessel passed approximately 3 KM off the Starboard bow of the Avenger and he raised an open hand in front of his face.

With a voice and tone which commanded authority and respect throughout the galaxy, Grand Admiral Ronin slowly closed his fingers in to a clenched fist as he uttered the command.

"FIRE"

I had already fired my second volley of Advanced Torpedo's that would finish off the Modified Frigate when I saw it. A blinding flash of green light that changed the color of everything within my visual range. The fighter craft I could see all sparkled momentarily with a greenish hue during this phenomenal show of force. I knew I shouldn't look at it but I couldn't turn away. It was beautiful. The Avenger had opened up with everything she had at one time. The Calamari vessel had no chance. Shields fell immediately and the hull was disintegrated as the entire ship was engulfed in a green aura. Then the explosion. I love to watch one of those cans go up. It's like the Emperor's birthday celebration.

But all good things must come to an end. As I looped around the frigate whose fate I had just sealed, I began getting hits from laser fire on my shields.

"Wing II check your fire!!!! Check your fire!!!!" I shouted over the radio

"That's not one of ours sir... You got a bogie on your six!!!" Came the reply from GN Coelis.

Oh yeah....well that's what I get for watching the fireworks instead of paying attention to my work.

"Where'd he come from??? I didn't think they got any off already!!!"

"That last CRS 80 is launching fighters now sir."

"Coelis....can you assist with my friend who's attached himself to my rear end?" I inquired while shifting power to shields.

"Affirmative sir. Break hard left on my mark and I'll bag that nasty for you.!!"

"Much appreciated Rho Leader. Take him down....Breaking on your mark."

"....three...two....one...MARK!!!"

I jinked the stick hard left and my Defender responded. Coelis was able to easily slip in the A-wing's tail and wax him.

Onboard the Avenger.

"Sir...The remaining CRS-80 designated Oster 2 has changed course and is moving to intercept the Avenger. It is escorted by 5 Corvettes. I believe they mean to engage us sir." stated the Commodore of the Avenger.

"These Rebels do have Gall lately, don't they. Adams!...who was the Commander of the Squadron that destroyed the CRS-80 at the 2nd Fleet engagement during the Aurora Campaign?"

"That would be LG Veelon sir...Commanded Sigma Squadron. They took out the Flag ship during that battle." replied the XO "He's a Wing Commander now...Wing II sir."

"Very well Admiral...Contact the Wing Commander and see if he'd have any trouble taking out another of those fish can's , before it gets within range." said the GA.

"I'm sure there's nothing he'd rather do sir...That's if he's still alive... It's a street fight out there sir. That 80 has launched multiple Squadrons which are currently trying to deter our forces from destroying Capital vessels. I'll see if we can raise him." stated the XO.

"Very well... Admiral Talon.....what is shield status?"

"Shields are at 84% sir and we are currently redirecting power to shield systems to compensate" stated the Commodore, always watching out for his ship.

"Alter course to assist in clearing out these screening ships. I want those corvettes taken out so our pilots don't have to worry about a gunner on one of those cans getting a lucky shot while they're concentrating on the bigger threats!.!."

"Understood sir."

My comm display lit up again. It was the XO on the priority command channel.

"LG Veelon. Glad to see your still with us. The remaining CRS-80 has altered course and is attempting to get in range to engage the Avenger. The Grand Admiral himself has requested you to destroy that ship before it gets in range. It seems he was very impressed with your actions during the Second Fleet engagement during the Aurora Campaign. I think he wants to see if it was just a fluke or if you can be consistent in your CRS killing." the XO said as he tried to muffle a laugh.

"Please inform the GA, that if he wants to see an advanced preview of what they're gonna be showing in highlight clips all week on the Holonet, then video link his display to my gun camera. I'm on it sir....consider it done! Two Leader out."

"Understood Veelon...Good hunting General...Avenger out." as the XO closed the comm link.

Alright!!!!! I get first shot at that fish hauler. I altered course to intercept the 80. Funny looking things I noted as I nosed over my Defender. Even in my highly advanced Defender I knew I couldn't take this thing alone. I opened up the Wing II channel.

"Squadron Commanders. Send the most heavily armed fighter in your squadron to meet me for a little picnic...We're goin after that CRS-80!!!" I declared then changed channels quickly. "One Leader this is Two Leader...be advised, I'm pulling some forces away from their assignments to go after that CRS-80... can you cover?"

"Affirmative Two....we'll pick up the slack....Give them one for me, okay!"

"Will do One...I'm already halfway home! Two out."

After a few seconds the reply's started rolling in from the Wing.

"Two leader...this is GN Hendrix Kappa-I...My Missile Boat and I are hear to assist!"

"This is GN Weston, Psi-II.... I've got a T/A to help. Let's take it out sir.."

"GN Coelis- Rho leader here sir. I've got 4 Advanced torpedo's left....and they're all yours"

"Two leader this is Sigma Leader...I only had two wingmen to start sir and I'm down to one...we don't have much of a load left but what's there is yours.."

"Negative Sigma Leader. Keep up your attack, Daniels, and I'll send reinforcements when I can"

I replied.

"Two Leader this is GN John-Omega-II...you can add a Spectre to your list. I'm a little out of range but I'll get there in time for the party."

"This is BG Hunter - Theta Leader... I've got your back boss...Let's take it to 'em"

"Follow me in. Extend your shields as much as you can before we get there and engage at will" I stated.

I could feel my heart pumping faster now as the 80 got larger in my crosshairs. This is the feeling a pilot lives for. You know you're on the edge, you're doing what you've trained for and dedicated your life to.

Check shields. Maximum extension. Arm torpedoes. Link fire. Looks like I'm ready to take it to the fish people. I swapped over power to engines and set shields to maximum forward protection. The Defender lunged forward and gained momentum. I was hurdling toward the largest Rebel ship type in their fleet. Keep sharp now. Check sensors. Closing 5 K till the 80. Closest friendly is 3 K behind me. Looks like I'll get one or possibly two passes before anyone else gets here. My lucky day.

Closing fast now... 4K till the Fish Barge. At about 3.5 they should have me locked up and anytime after that I should expect heavy fire. I've heard reports that the Rebels have been modifying their weapons systems to deal with T/A's and Defenders. You can try to teach a computer to target a faster ship, but you'll never be able to second guess a pilot. Especially a good one. Well, I guess I'll find out what they've been up to soon enough.

Even closer now. 2K and I can start seeing flashes of red emanating from the 80. Here it comes. It's time to pick a place to plant these torpedoes I'd been saving for just an occasion like this.

Definitely time to pick a target. I cycle though the points of interest on the 80 and I come to the place that I've always though would be vulnerable. That big gaping hole on the side. The flight bay. I know that they have shields but they must drop them when they launch flights.....right? And the last time I came at one of these things they launched a flight as I was coming inbound. Is this standard procedure on these Rebel cans? Let's test a theory....no better time than the present to find out.

My Father (the Commodore of the Imperial Naval Academy) always said "Be patient, look for the unusual, that's what makes a good pilot, great."

Hold on Veelon...patients. I kept my eyes on the launch bay as the cannon fire started coming in hot and heavy. I jigged left and right, up and down but stayed on course to the flight bay. Under 1K now and closing fast. Something told me to wait. I don't know what it was but I had to listen, and then it happened. They launched a strike against me. That's it!!!! That's what I was waiting for.

I cleared my target display and aimed directly for the first X-Wing exiting the Bay. I knew that I couldn't get a lock on it with the hanger's shield still up so I had to take a chance. I released the pair of Advanced torpedoes and held my breath as they hurdled toward the exiting craft. My timing was perfect. The shields dropped just as the torpedoes reached the entrance of the hangar. They struck the Alphabet wing as it "attempted" to exit the 80. It immediately exploded and the ensuing flame and debris caused the other two X-wings to veer off course and strike the side of the hanger. The fireworks were spectacular. I instinctively released a second pair of torpedoes into the hanger, rolled left and pulled back on the stick. I just barely missed the fireball leaping out of the mouth of the hanger.

"WHOA!!!!!! Nice shot chief. One in a million!!!!" exclaimed GN Coelis who was coming in fast behind me.

"You know where to put your ordinance, right General?" I half-heartedly questioned.

"Way ahead of you Leader!! Starting my run now." stated the T/A pilot.

Coelis released his salvo, targeting the hanger. Four torpedoes entered the now fiery opening of the 80 and exploded. An even bigger fireball erupted this time. He must have done some serious damage on that one.

"Two Leader this is GN John....how do you want 'em sir?"

"Great timing General. I want everything you've got put into that big fiery gaping hole on the side of that can!!!" I explained.

The Spectre was a sight to behold and this pilot did know how to handle it. Even thought it was one of the Hammer's newest spacecraft, he flew it like he had flown it all his life.

"Don't pull that Missile Boat, long range shoot and bail routine, General!! You've gotta get up close and personal." I ordered.

The Spectre had the speed needed to pull this off and if executed right, we'd be done in about 10 seconds.

The new EH craft jinked left and right dodging the incoming fire that was coming in hard and heavy now. He got within 2K of the vessel and unloaded everything he had. The force of the ordinance that was hurled into the hanger split the CRS-80 in two and a two tiered fireball erupted in space.

"Nice going John!!! Well done." I proclaimed while changing to the command channel again.

"SSD Avenger...SSD Avenger... this is Two Leader. The CRS-80 has been terminated with extreme prejudice."

"Two Leader, this is Admiral Adams. Well done Veelon. I think you're starting to enjoy this too much. Be advised the Avenger is clearing out the remaining screening ships. Return to the Avenger. Looks like this one is under control."

GA Ronin stood looking over the incoming messages and reports. Ronin's plan had worked perfectly. He knew that when the second CRS-80 fell the remaining escort vessels would bug out, having nothing to escort or protect.

"Sir...reports coming in now confirm the remaining Rebel forces are withdrawing from the battle area. We've got them on the run sir. Shall we pursue sir?" remarked the XO.

"Negative. Clean up any stragglers and lets set up a defensive perimeter in case these Rebels get any more bright ideas! And one more thing. Well done."

Ronin turned and walked toward his ready room. "Admiral Adams... Have LG Veelon report to my Ready Room when he returns. I'd like to discuss the tactics he employed on that CRS-80 assault."

"Understood sir." replied the XO.

As I neared the Avenger the priority comm channel flashed again. "Veelon... report to the Grand Admiral's Ready Room immediately upon your arrival. Adams out."

"Sounds serious" I though as I activated the tractor beam lock.

"Well, another battle fought and won for the glory of the Empire. Courtesy of the Emperor's Hammer Elite Strike Fleet."

A perfect place to get my revenge on the Rebels.....I had finished my Tour of Duty when another man came to me and said that I should join the most elite TIE Fighter wing, the Emperor's Hammer! The man called himself MKrezenski...... Later General Mathew (MKrezenski) turned out to be a Rebel! And here I am now Rear Admiral, Science Officer, and as happy as the Rancor in an all you can eat buffet.

Sir,

Here is a proposed banner for the ISD Vanguard. I will be sending it to

the members of the Vanguard for their approval also. The members of the

Vanguard have also picked a ship nickname. It is Guardian of the Fleet.

Please tell me if you approve of both.
