The Fleet Commander is proud to announce the opening of a new WWW Home Page, created
and maintained directly by the Fleet Commander. In order to reduce significant online and
email delays between Command Officers and Members, the Fleet Commander started this site
to post new announcments and, in the future, the latest issues of the EH Newsletters and EH
Pilot Manuals...It is recommended that ALL Members (AOL and Internet) wishing to keep
current on the EH, visit this site regularly. However, please be advised that this site in no way
replaces the Main EH WWW Site (maintained by ScotP@aol.com) which is the primary focal
point of the EH presence on the Internet. The Office of the Fleet Commander is merely
intended to supplement and support it....

The URL of the Office of the Fleet Commander is at:

http://members.gnn.com/garonin/ronin.htm

It should also be noted that this WWW site contains the latest Memorandum straight from the
Desk of the Fleet Commander...These Memoranda (to be released every couple of days) will
contain the latest breaking events, Command Officer changes, Fleet announcements, capital
ship additions, NL release dates, etc...In addition, the Office of the Fleet Commander will
occasionally present "spotlights" on new and interesting Star Wars or TIE Fighter WWW sites
found in the FCs travels...

Combined Arms Battle 3 Plotline posted by the Fleet
Commander...!

Remnants of the CRV Phantasia, flagship of the
pitiful remains of the Phare System Garrison
Fleet, recently decimated by the Emperor's Hammer...
(Photo: TIE Fighter CD, LucasArts, 1995)

FLEET COMMANDER'S NOTE:

The Fleet Commander herein presents the proposed Battle Plotline for the Assault on
Phare System Combined Arms Battle (EH CAB3). The Phare System, as detailed
presented in the EH Systems Manual (ver 1.2), serves as the next target for the
Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. In Newsletter #28, forward elements of the
Emperor's Hammer Fleet, specifically the ISD Vanguard and ISD Challenge, took
Loki and its military garrison in preparation for the CAB detailed herein. It should
be noted that the heaviest of the Phare System Garrison Fleet ships (several
Dreadnaughts and Strike Cruisers) were already destroyed by the Hammer in Free
Mission Ronin-7, released with NL #28...

Please note that the missions for this CAB will be released with NL #30 in TIE
Fighter CD format (the missions will still be playable with the disk version)...

Emperor's Hammer Members are strongly advised to review the updated Systems
Manual (ver 1.3) attached to this Newsletter for more detailed information on the
Phare System...

As of the posting of this Newsletter No. 29, the Phare System is considered to be substantially
in the control of the Emperor's Hammer forces...

Sir,

Please be advised that following a recent incursion to the Corporate Sector Authority and the
records kept at various HoloArchives within their Sector, I have obtained the following
supplemental background information on the Phare System in recent months. Unfortunately,
with the recent loss of Coruscant, access to the Imperial Archives is impossible. The Corporate
Sector Authority, still relatively unaffected by the rebellion, represents the best source of
informational in future endeavors. However, be advised that the more we deal with the
Corporate Sector Authority and her CEOs, the less chance we stand of keeping Aurora hidden
from the New Republic.

In any event, I offer the following background information for the Aurora System for the past
several years, at least what is available:

For the past 30 years, the Phare System has been occupied by the Empire under the rule of an
Imperial Governor. Although the Phare System was managed competently enough, its Imperial
Governor and most of the System Garrison Fleet had left Phare when the Battle of Endor was lost.
Available information indicates they had attempted to return to Coruscant but apparently
never arrived. It is assumed they were destroyed by a Rebel fleet as their flagship was only an
outdated Victory Class Star Destroyers with several Corvettes as escorts...It is painfully
apparent that the remaining garrison forces represent little threat to our forces...

As a side note, a partially completed Imperial Class Star Destroyer, the ISD Relentless, was
found intact by invading Emperor's Hammer forces when Loki and its massive military complex was
taken. This complex would serve as an excellent base to house our main garrison Fleet for
this System. Apparently, in their rush to leave, the Governor and his Fleet were not too
concerned about leaving behind most of the weapons, parts and ship stockpiles. The
Emperor's Hammer should have enough stockpiled supplies to supply our war machine for months.

Finally, borrowing the M/CRV Phantom from the Recon Officer, I made several preliminary
passes In-System and have identified significant resistance to our Fleet only in orbit above the
agricultural world of Sif, the luxury aquatic world of Frigg and the former Wookie slave planet,
Ullyr...These ships consist primarily of a few outdated corvettes and refitted star galleons as
their capital ships with several older class TIE Fighter and TIE Bomber squadrons for system
defense...

I should also note that the blaster and ion gas mining operations of the gas giant, Njord, appear
ripe for the taking, with minimal resistance anticipated at these civilian installations...

Secure the Phare System

by FC/GA Ronin/CS-1/SSD Avr (GARonin@aol.com)

The following Battle Plotline is posted by the Fleet Commander:

General Background

Following the capture of the Loki Military Complex a month ago, the Fleet Commander has first ordered the complete destruction of any opposing Imperial and/or Rebel forces remaining in the Phare System. Considering the apparent warlord mentality of the remaining Imperial officers in Phare and their subsequent refusal to accept the Emperor's Hammer as a duly appointed Fleet of the Emperor, complete and total destruction is warranted.

The first targets will be the remaining Imperial capital ships and fighters at each of the three primary inhabited planets Ullyr, Frigg and Sif. These will typically include older corvettes, converted commercial craft (i.e. luxury liners, shuttles, transports, etc.). It is anticipated that older starfighter classes such as the TIE Fighter and TIE Bomber will be protecting these ships. In addition, various older hostile corporate and civilian fighter craft (i.e. Z-95s, T-41s and R-41 Starchasers) can be expected to be present.

Since these Imperials have essentially been isolated from the main supply routes of the Empire, their ships and technology are not up to current Imperial standards. The Fleet Commander expects this Combined Arms Battle to represent more of an "occupation" than hard pitched battle. However, each TIE Pilot is warned that isolated, heavily armed pockets of resistance may remain...

EH Mission 1 - The Saraii (Sif)

The Saraii, an ancient and noble race, from which it is suspected that Grand Admiral Thrawn originated, have few defense resources remaining at their disposal. In orbit above Sif are several Platforms that serve as waypoints and trading centers for the many agricultural products produced on Sif. It is anticipated that the these platforms will be moderately guarded by the Sif Civilian Defense Forces and Imperial Corvettes and TIEs. The M/CRV Phantom has identified the CRV Phantasia, and 3 converted Corporate Sector Authority (CSA) Star Galleons in orbit above Sif.

Once the orbiting forces are annhilated, the Saraii should soon see the wisdom of swearing fealty the the Emperor's Hammer...

EH Mission 2 - Dangerous Luxuries (Frigg)

Frigg, a hardly known but intriguing luxury aquatic world will be a valuable prize for the Hammer. Not only will this planet serve as a recreation planet for our troops, but the "living" nature of this thriving, aquatic world will appeal to many Dark Jedi on Sabbatical.

Currently, only a few TIE squadrons and several aging assault transports protect the spaceport on Frigg. This should be an easy prize...

EH Mission 3 - Wookies Enslaved (Ullyr)

It is estimated by the Imperial Survey Corps that approximately 5,000 Imperial military and Citizens were stranded on Ullyr 5 months ago when most of the System Fleet and the Phare Governor left. These humans have apparently assembled in small isolated bands throughout the forested world. Recent Imperial Security Bureau and Scout Corps surveys have identified the locations of approximately 2,000 of these Imperials. Not only are they in dire need of emergency relief supplies, but they stand the danger of being captured and killed by the Wookies now in control of the planet's surface.

The Fleet Commander has decided that this Wookie presence shall be quelled and be bonded to once again serve the Empire as befits their non-sentient status. With the thousands of Imperials bound to enter the system following its conquest by the Hammer, housing and new construction will be required and the native hardwoods of Ullyr are prized throughout the Outer Rim.

This mission will center on holding control of the orbits above Ullyr. The M/CRV Phantom identifed the potential presence of several B-Wing construction facilities planetside. Consequently, garrison forces assigned to this planet will initially find some Rebel resistance. It is to be dealt with swiftly...No Wookie B-Wings can escape...!

EH Mission 4 - Rescue Scout Survey Team (Thor)

This mission centers on your adequate defense of several transports and shuttles ferrying a large 500 member scout transport and shuttles from the planet to the TFC Roxanna waiting in orbit with a Hospital Module attached. Apparently, the Scout Corps Survey Team met up with a particularly hungry band of Grenfels on Thor. Based on initial reports, the one platoon of 40 fully-equipped Stormtroopers standing guard over the Survey Team held off several hundred of the behemoths before they broke into the Imperial encampments and killed an estimated 75 scientists. The whereabouts of the scientists is unknown, but they have already been presumed dead, as the Grenfels captures its prey for only one reason...Food...

As the Transports and Shuttles attempt to dock with the TFC Roxanna for medical aid. Several TIEs and Civilian fighters enter the area. Your job will be to keep these transports safe. They must not be destroyed.

DB Mission 1 - Haven (Hela)

On Hela, a mercury-like world in the closest orbit to Odin, also contains some of the richest mining operations in the Phare System. Haven, the masive mining complex planetside, is run and managed by a conglomeration of small, insignificant corporations that have banded together to oppose the Hammer.

Several of the most experienced and elite TIE fighter pilots in Tau Squadron will be used to lay waste to the Corporate corvettes and T-41s in orbit above Hela...However, any Platforms or containers MUST NOT be destroyed as they represent vital materiel supplies for our Fleet. The capture of this planet and its supplies intact is one of the most important missions of this CAB.

THE 34th BATTLE PLOTLINE APPROVED FOR THE EMPEROR'S HAMMER!

Mission Profile

{Encounter at Charybdis}

by

FM/GN Lee/Cobra-1/ISD Vanguard

Brief: You are assigned to the M/CRV Byzantium in the Charybdis System. The Byzantium is doing routine recon work around Rebel concentrations in an attempt to gather more information on the system for a possible Emperor's Hammer annexation. Several discoveries are made, but soon the Byzantium has got more than she bargained for. Crack EH ships/pilots are needed to save her.

Mission #2: Capture Operation

Brief: T/F Alpha's inspections from last mission have revealed a top ranking Rebel spy (Codename: Shade) onboard the passenger liner Sahbo. Shade has apparently commandeered the bridge of the passenger liner and is making his way to a rendevous with his Rebel contacts. The passengers, loyal Imperial citizenry, are being used by Shade as a pitiful attempt to shield himself should he be discovered. Gun Mu (You) and TRN Harpy will make a concerted effort to disable and capture the liner. Speed is of the essence, however, since Shade has managed to send a distress signal to his Rebel cohorts.

TRN Grab (0:20) arrives after TRN Harpy arrives. All other ships initially present.

Mission #3: Sitting Duck Gambit

Brief: During the last mission, the M/CRV Byzantium sustained damage to its hyperdrive and long-range communication system. A Rebel task force has arrived, and they are particularly upset to see us rather than the spy they were to rendvous with! They have deployed a modified arrary of TYPE A probes that screen them from long-range Imperial scans and serve as a crude early warning system should any ship enter the sector. They no doubt intend to capture or destroy the M/CRV Byzantium. Our only hope lies destroying the probes, inspecting the Rebel capital ships, and escaping to Imperial space. This can only be accomplished by GUN Mu (You), our only hyperdrive capable craft. To make matters worse, GUN Mu's shield generators were damaged during the last battle, and we haven't time to repair them.

Primary Goals:

GUN Mu must have survived

100% of Carrack Crusier Group Renaldo must be inspected

All other ships initially present.

Mission #4: Scour Adjacent Sectors In Search Of M/CRV Byzantium

Brief: You successfully destroyed the probes and escaped with valuable information. You come out of hyperspace near a TIE Advanced patrol. After explaining your situation, you are immediately escorted aboard the waiting ISD Vanguard and make your report to its commander. A short hyper-jump by a recon team reveals that the Rebels and the M/CRV have fled. A Secret Order member privately informs you that the Byzantium was conducting a special espionage mission. Unfortunately, its computers contain information relating to security, fleet strength, and secret locations of Emperor's Hammer forces. It is standard procedure to self-destruct any vital materials in the event of capture, but we cannot be certain that the Byzantium's commander had the chance. The information aboard the Byzantium computers is well encrypted, and the ship would have to be taken to an advanced facility, such as a base, in order to hack its system. A massive recon effort is under way to find the M/CRV Byzantium and the Rebel convoy. T/A Group Beta (You) will check Sector 4E.

Primary Goals:

M/CRV Byzantium must be inspected

100% of Escort Shuttle Group Gar must be inspected

M/CRV Byzantium, E/S Gar, FRG Mastiff, MUTR Wekala, and CORT Marella leave when attacked or inspected. T/A Beta Drone leaves when shields are depleted.

Mission #5: Recapture the M/CRV Byzantium

Brief: Your excellent recon work in the last mission paid off! We were able to ascertain from your scans that the M/CRV Byzantium's computer system is still intact, and the Rebels tampering has yielded them nothing! Unfortunately, the Byzantium's crew was being held prisoner in the cargo bay. The Rebel convoy was also carrying some interesting technical cargo; we would like to find out that cargo's pupose! Drive plasma trails trace the convoy to a nearby sector. T/D Rho (You) and GUN Tau has been given the honor of disabling the capital ships of the convoy. ATR Pegasus will recapture the M/CRV Byzantium. The ISD Vanguard will oversee the recapture effort. A Secret Order operative informs you that the disabled Carrack Crusiers and the Frigate will be part of a trap to snare the Rebel Fleet. You are informed to attack the Corellian Transports, but let them escape to lure their Rebels friends back here! Be alert for any starfighter defense the convoy may have scraped together.

Primary Goals:

ISD Vanguard must have survived

M/CRV Byzantium must be captured

Secondary Goals:

Mission #6: Came Up Empty?

Brief: The trap we laid for the Rebels yielded nothing. As a result, the Carrack Crusiers and the Frigate disabled in the last mission will be captured and returned to Imperial space. TRN Kaiser and Kaiser II, bearing a crack computer hack team will download the Renaldo's and Mastiff's logs to look for clues and other Rebel information. Perhaps the strangest item of note is the absence of the Byzantium crew and the Rebel supplies. They were never recovered during the recapture operation, and no other ships were tracked entering or leaving this sector. T/D Rho (You) and T/B Kappa will perform routine patrol duties.........A Secret Order operative takes you aside and warns you of a disturbance in the Force. No further information is available, but we will find a way to contact you when we learn more. Be vigilant and serve the Emperor's Hammer and Dark Brotherhood!

Epilogue:

After saving the ISD Vanguard and INT Harpax II, you are rewarded with an award ceremony. The Force is strong with you, and you have used your anger to destroy your enemies! For that, you are invited to complete your training at the Shadow Academy. The crew of the M/CRV Byzantium owe you their lives and are grateful for your part in their rescue. The cloaking generators, cloak technical data, and warp cores that you helped capture will be taken to the Emperor's Hammer Corporate Division for analysis. You have served the Emperor's Hammer well and have shown that the Charybdis System is ripe for annexation. Congratulations on a job well done!!!
