Head Director of the Ubiqtorate's Introduction

(Excerpted from the EH Interrogation Manual, created by EHSarkis@aol.com, 1996)

Imperial Intelligence has long been a part of the Galactic Empire. Under the direction of Palpatine's New Order, Imperial Intelligence was restructured into an almost invincible war machine. But with the death of the Emperor, Intelligence has found a new home, the Emperor's Hammer strike fleet.

The New Imperial Intelligence is a sub-group within the Emperor's Hammer. Pilots who seem suited for the rigors of Intelligence work will be contacted by a member of the Ubiqtorate. Imperial Intelligence is a division [SubGroup] of the Emperor's Hammer, and we concentrate on the covert ways of war.

The Interrogation Manual, now available for viewing (attached to this EH Newsletter), will be the basis for the operation of Imperial Intelligence. This manual is a top-secret document, as all of our methods and procedures are described therein.

This document was written with the valuable help of Vice Admiral Caesar (Jedi 007@aol.com), and Lieutenant General Sarkis, who came up with this revival idea. These two men were invaluable in reviving Imperial Intelligence

Return to the Empire

General Colton, aka "Rogue," couldn't believe what he was hearing: Brigadier General Sarkis was returning. He had heard conflicting stories about his absence. One was that he was on a secret mission for the Dark Brotherhood. Another story was that he got captured by New Republic ships while out on a pleasure flight. Colton wasn't sure which story to believe, but he was glad that his Commander was returning.

For about two weeks, Colton experienced the duties that Sarkis goes through everyday. He had lots of communiques, some from his Squadron members, others from Major General Caesar, the Relentless' Wing Commander, and all those on top of the usual communiques he received. Still, he figured that this temporary command will give him experience in the field. Sarkis appointed him acting Commander, so he must've seen something in him. Perhaps Colton will be a full-fledged Commander when Sarkis returns. No matter, his duty at present was to lead Dagger into battle.

He got the briefing from Major General Caesar: Sarkis was arriving via a New Republic convoy, and will shortly exit an Escort Carrier in a shuttle. Colton and his pilots are to escort Sarkis' shuttle back into the Relentless. Sounded like an easy enough job, and it was. Sarkis came back safe and sound. He seemed a little battered, but he was in good shape nonetheless. As Sarkis went to his quarters, Colton walked up and asked:

"What happened? Some people say you were captured, others on a secret mission, what's the scoop?"

"Both. I'll tell you about it later..." and Sarkis went into his chambers. He sat down on the bed, and started to speak.

"Kevin, I was on a secret mission for the Dark Brotherhood. I was purposefully captured and was interred aboard one of the NewRep cruisers. I learned what I needed to learn, and left. And now, here I am..."

Just then, another knock came upon Sarkis' door. Sarkis looked up to see General Curraalt's face pop in. "Curraalt! Nice to seeya!"

"Man, when I heard you got back, I came as soon as I could!"

The three men looked at each other in silence, then Sarkis smirked and muttered "Look at us, we're an outlaw flight..."

"What?" asked the other two.

"All of us. There are pilots in the Fleet with records that read 'Graduated honors in Naval Academy, father was pilot, excelled in the Fleet, yada yada yada.' Us three, we're a bunch of rascals..." Sarkis said with a sly grin. "Curraalt, you were a pirate and a smuggler. Colton, you were a merc, and a pretty good con artist. Almost convinced that guard at Point 5. And with a nickname like 'Rogue,' you got to have done some troublemaking. Me, I watched people, and killed some for Jabba. Look at us now, we are extensions of modern law and order, something in which we were running away from..."

Just then, the datapad started beepgin. Sarkis checked his datapad to find out that it was a transmission from Lieutenant General Compton, a Squadron Commander aboard the ISD Colossus.

"Well well well, if it isn't the Red Baron of the Hammer..." Sarkis commented.

"Hey there buddy. Heard that you got back from them Rebels. How does it feel to be back?"

"Feels a whole lot better already. Too bad you weren't there, could've taken out their Fleet or somethin'..."

"Well, we can't be everywhere at once. Talk to ya later..." and Compton ended the transmission.

Sarkis stood up and said "Curraalt, Colton, get ready for a briefing. I need to give a de-briefing to Caesar, and then we'll be on our way."

And the three men left Sarkis' chambers...

A few missions later, Dagger squadron has brought in a prize:

The Commodore of a Calamarian Light Cruiser.

Caesar watched over the Commodore as he was led into an interrogation room. He was about to call an Interrogation agent when Sarkis came up to him.

"Caesar, lemme have a crack at him."

"You sure?"

"Don't worry, I've done this type of thing many times before. And if he really doesn't tell me anything, I can just read his mind, y'know?"

"Okay, fine, take a shot at him."

Curraalt and Colton happened to have walked by the interrogation room when they saw Sarkis go in. Caesar said "He's doing the interrogation, he's had experienced in this field..."

The three of them watched as Sarkis started to close the windows to the room. He then shut off all the recording devices. He then walked out and asked "Is this room sound-proof? Wouldn't want anyone walking by to feel...uncomfortable."

"Yeah, but how will we know what's going on with the recorders off?" Caesar asked.

"Simple, read my mind," and Sarkis took out his vibro-blade, and went inside. Just as he flashed the vibro-blade, Curraalt had a slightly uneasy look on his face.

"Let's go," Caesar said, and the three of them left.

Two hours later, Sarkis emerged from the interrogation room, covered in blood. He walked into Caesar's room, and Caesar stood up in shock of what he was seeing. "What happened!!!!"

"Just some simple information retrieval. You wanted him to escape and go back to the NewReps, correct?"

"Yes..."

"Well, you're going to have to have some medics from prosthetics take care of his right arm, left thumb, and left pinky. I hope the boys can handle the mess. I'll create and file a report and drop it off to your office in about half an hour..." And Sarkis left the room, and watched as some orderlies got queasy upon entering the interrogation room.

Curraalt and Colton watched as Sarkis went to his chambers. "I knew he was an Intel kind of guy, but I didn't know about this..." commented Colton.

"I swear, something about that vibro-knife seems awfully familiar..." Curraalt said.

Sarkis emerged from his chambers, and said "C'mon guys, we've got a mission to fly!"

* * *

Colton and Curraalt noticed Sarkis' behavior in their last mission together. The mission was a normal procedure: escort the strike squadrons into the fray. During the middle of the battle, Sarkis spoke into the comm system:

"Curraalt, 'Rogue,' follow me. Rest of Dagger, proceed as normally," and Sarkis' TIE Advanced was observed pulling away from the rest of the squad. Curraalt's Assault Gunboat and Colton's TIE Bomber followed suit.

"Shouldn't we be attending to our mission?" asked Colton. "Yeah Sarkis, what're we doing?" asked Curraalt.

"We're going hunting. Look, the strike team is doing fine. Soon, we'll have shuttles and transports fleeing. Only one man is allowed to survive, kill the rest..." Sarkis said coldly.

"But if you kill NewRep civilians aboard them transports, they'll get hella mad at you. Plus, it's kinda wrong..." Colton trailed off...

"Colton, you're an Acolyte in the Dark Brotherhood. Have you read our great Emperor's book 'The Weakness of Inferiors?' It explains much. Curraalt understands the need for ruthlessness when it comes to eliminating the weak. We are at war, and the weak do not deserve to live, only the strong. Also, I want them to get angry at me..." And with those words, Sarkis fired all four of his lasers at a fleeing shuttle and severely damaged it. He identified the shuttle and saw that it was carrying some fleeing officers, and squeezed the trigger once more to blow it into oblivion.

And so it continued. Curraalt, Colton and Sarkis went around in the background destroying the transports and shuttles carrying the various victims. Curraalt was about to blast the last shuttle until Sarkis said "No, leave that one..."

"Is this that one man?"

"Yes, it's that man who I interrogated. Let him go." Sarkis broadcast a message to all imperial craft that the specific shuttle bearing the former COM is not to be attacked. As the battle ended, Sarkis saw the shuttle escape into hyperspace.

"Let's get back to the Relentless boys, we've got a 'Kill-them-NewReps party to go to!!!!" and Sarkis sped back to the Relentless, which then hypered back to the Daedalus.

Aboard the PLT Daedalus, Sarkis, Curraalt, Colton, and Caesar were ordered to report to Fleet Admiral Pyr for some news. As the four men walked in, Compton was also waiting in Pyr's office.

"Hey there Compton, know what's happening here?" asked Sarkis.

"Heard we're all getting promoted," Compton replied.

Pyr then walked in, and said "Gentlemen, due to your service to the Empire, and to some recommendations from your superiors, you are all promoted in the following fashion:

Caesar, you are hereby promoted to Vice Admiral, and are now the Fleet Commander's Attacé.

Compton, same deal for you, but you are the Tactical Officer's Attaché.

Curraalt, you are promoted to Lieutenant General, and you will transfer to the elite Tau Squadron, where you will serve as Squadron Commander.

Colton, you are promoted to Brigadier General, and you will be the new Squadron Commander for Dagger.

Sarkis, you are promoted to Lieutenant General as well, and you will transfer to the SSD Avenger where you will serve as Wing Commander for Wing I. Shortly you will transfer to the SSSD Sovereign when it is complete.

Gentlemen, this is also my last day as the Flight Officer. I have decided to finally retire, and after today, Admiral Jac will be the new Flight Officer. Serve him well." And with those words, Pyr saluted the five men in the room. They saluted back, and they all left the room.

* * *

All six of them were in hangar bay 127, where escort shuttles awaited to take them to their new positions.

"Well Compton, you're finally moving up the chain of command..." Sarkis commented.

"It's about time too!" Compton replied back.

Caesar then said "Well Sarkis, we'll be serving aboard the same ship, but now you'll experience the work that I've been doing when I was WCing the Relentless. I think you can take it."

"Thanks." Sarkis then turned to Curraalt and Colton, and said "Congrats to the both of you. Curraalt, you're leading an elite Dark Brotherhood squad, so if you need any help, contact me. Colton, the same goes for you. Take good care of Dagger for me. Also, we'll be seeing each other soon. I have an...assignment that may interest you..." and with that, Sarkis shook both their hands, and saluted them. Just as he did so, a communications officer ran to Sarkis, and said "This is the transmission we intercepted, just as you predicted." He handed it to Sarkis. Sarkis started laughing, and he threw the transmission behind him as he headed towards the shuttle.

Colton, out of curiosity, picked up the transmission. It had a picture of Sarkis, and it said "Wanted: Raemes Sarkis. For: The killing of Twenty-Seven New Republic Officers, and for the torture of One New Republic Officer. Is currently a pilot in an Imperial Naval Group, and thus may have killed countless others. His crimes against the New Republic demand for execution. If encountered, TERMINATE WITH EXTREME PREJUDICE."

Curraalt looked at the picutre, and then said "Oh my god..." That picture locked the final piece of the puzzle. The picture, the laugh, the vibro-blade. It all came together for Curraalt. He remembered several years ago, when he was meeting a contact in his smuggling days...

Jabba announced a death-mark on Sarkis, and Sarkis strolled out of the bathroom, with vibro-blade in hand, and was laughing a bit. The picture on the NewRep sheet looked almost exactly like the one Jabba displayed oh so many years ago.

Curraalt looked at Sarkis with total and complete recognition as he boarded the shuttle. The last thing he heard was Colton commenting "Man, to think Sarkis was tagged with an EP flag by the NewReps, they must really hate him. I'm not sure if the Fleet Commander has an EP tag..."
