Battle Reviews

Lighthearted story with good dialogue. Technically excellent missions. I always like fighting pirates to see some different kinds of enemy ships. Lots of fun to fly. Sometimes I think Jagged designs these missions to force me to learn TFTC hotkeys and commands. This one forced me to learn saving vital crafts and quick-targeting what was attacking them.

I really enjoyed this battle. I was impressed with how the escort mission was done, it was much better than traditional escort missions.

Not the biggest fan on this one. The primary issue is that if you do not position yourself properly, you will have a bad time. I found myself having to make sure that my invincible wingmen were always in front of me and taking aggro, or I was always heavily outnumbered. In the first mission you start under attack from 8 T-Wings, and in mission 3 if you do not position your invincible wingmen in front of you, you will be under attack from 16 razor fighters and one system patrol craft. You also have no craft on your radio throughout the entire battle, meaning you are solely responsible for taking care of all mission critical goals alone, unless your AI just happens to target that next.

It was also unusual that in mission 4 the Challenge was not a mission critical craft. The hangars facing away from the medium transport was also an issue, as anything attacking the Medium transport (which had no lasers, which was weird, one ship tasked with destroying something very important had no lasers) would be forced to take evasive action, which messed up acquiring them as targets, since when they are evading the capital ship but still attacking their target they do not register when you press E. Would have also liked to see more variety in bonus goals.

PAR!

Unashamedly I write this review. I love the story of this battle. It all stems from some jokes in our squad chat during the comp and I decided right then and there to make those jokes a reality. I originally planned to have the player killed if they get caught by the explosion but could not find a way to do it without crashing the game...oh well, it works well enough as it is. Recommend to not use time acceleration on the last mission as it can cause the messages and the internal game clock to get out of sync and cause you not to have the right warnings to get out when it is time to go.

Introduction
-------------
During Imperial Storm 6 we had lots of banter in Typhoon Squadron chat due to GN La'an
being the Game Master controlling the Kilji, myself being the self appointed main
propogandist for the TIE Corps, and GN Master just being himself. One of Master's fun
little comments was a joke that we should just blow up the Rift and end the war. And
that got me thinking...

The TIE Corps has just reached the Chaos, after months of journeying, and have found
the abandoned Imperial colony on XC-50391 (RtF-2023). There they learned of Navigators
and afterwards went in exploration of the space around the former Imperial world.
A recent recruit to the TIE Corps, LCM Jagged Fell III, has risen through the ranks
quickly, having attained the rank of LCM after just two months with the Corps and has
now been appointed a Flight Leader in Typhoon Squadron. He is about to go out on his
patrol as a leader of other pilots in the Corps. What could go wrong?
