Currently mission 2 is flawed, having been swapped with that of XW-TC 6. BSFs for this battle will not be approved until this error is remedied. File remains available for members to compare to any backups so we may restore the battle without rewriting the affected mission.

Battle Reviews

Fun battle now that the bug has been fixed. I think XWVM really helps some of these battles by allowing for better goal tracking and 4x speed.

Description
-----------
This battle is part of a series of free missions and now battles about each of the
squadrons in the ASF doing missions following their squadron objective in their assigned
craft. Each mission tries to give a feel and a bit of history of each of the Squadrons. All the storylines of the missions are interconnected and have the ASF Squadron join together against a common foe. In timeline this battle takes place just after the free missions.

Part 1 of a Trilogy about Intruder Squadron.

Story Line
----------

MISSION 1: "[Intruder Squadron], 116th TIE Corps Squadron, of Wing XIX is based upon the
[ISDII Hammer] and its objective is [Infiltration]. Infiltration Squadrons often operate
well behind enemy lines, specializing in sabotage, espionage and surprise attacks. To
launch surprise attacks DEEP in enemy held territory, Infiltration Squadrons would be able
to perform these missions in small flight groups so large amounts of EH assets are not
risked.
We have obtained reliable data on the course of a lightly defended [NR-Spine Security Force
Convoy] and will attack it at a hyperspace point near a small asteroid field.
Flight 1, in B-Wings, will take care of the convoy, while the X-Wings of Flight 2 and the
A-Wings of Flight 3 provide cover. The moment you have finished off the convoy, get out of
there before more forces arrive."

MISSION 2: "The convoy we hit at that asteroid field was loaded up with warheads - warheads
which weren't produced by the NR-SSF themselves. Since we know from what base the convoy
launched we are going to investigate it a bit further.
Inspect the base components quickly, so we know what parts to capture, then take care of
the base defences and fighters so the transports can come in safely.
The New Republic Spine Security Force has several of these cache bases spread out along
the Corellian Trade Spine to be able to resupply their ships along the whole route. Because
of continued ASF attacks they lately have been developping a shortage of warheads.
This is why a convoy full of them attracted the attention of our Commodore, who wants to
find out where these warheads came from and then take care of the factory they come from."

MISSION 3: "Research on the captured warheads pointed once again to the Genko System, one
of the largest producers of torpedoes in the Galaxy and a loose ally to anyone, including
the Emperor's Hammer.
Our spies at their core system were able to trace the hyperspace vectors of an outgoing
convoy of warheads - on their way to the NR-Spine Security Force for another delivery.
According to our sources the Genkoans have only added a light escort of Wishbones (Y-Wings)
to their convoy of freighters and shuttles. This is strange, as the Genkoans are known to
have a preference for Imperial designs - when available.
The rendezvous point is a small nav-sat near the Genko - NR-SSF Border. Deal with the
convoy quickly before the Rebels arrive for their goods."

MISSION 4: "From the black boxes of the freighters we destroyed in our last mission we were
able to determine their destination: A weapons transfer with the NR-SSF near the Minos
Cluster. They didn't tell us where the convoy came from though.
Because we want to know where the warheads come from we will need to capture some of the
crews of the ships involved in the transfer. Intruder Flight 1 will as such try to disable
the freighters, after which the transports from Wrench Squadron will board and capture."
