HYPERION FLIGHT BATTLETEAM REPORT 107 - 03 MARCH 2019

Foundry Spotlight: [AEI] In Silence

The Foundry is a special program within Star Trek Online that allows users to make their own episodes, playable by other Captains within STO. To access it, open your Mission Journal, and select “Foundry,” at the top. Every now and then, we like to spotlight a particularly interesting or unique mission for all of you to experience. This time, we’re spotlighting “[AEI] In Silence” by Starfarertheta.
In Silence is part of an initiative called the Alliance Exploration Initiative, created by fan podcast The Foundry Roundtable. The goal was to create missions based around exploration, not just combat. In Silence takes you on a mission to meet up with a very demanding ambassador, which quickly goes off course and becomes an exploration of a long-dead space station, full of interesting and wonderful surprises. I particularly enjoyed the dialogue choices in the mission, allowing you to play your Captain as logical or emotional as you please.
Please keep in mind that to play this mission, you will need an environment suit equipped. And if you get lost, press V.
I greatly enjoyed my time playing In Silence, and I think you will, too. You can access it in the “Spotlight” section of the Foundry tab, in the Mission Journal.

Phoenix Prize Pack!

We are excited to announce the return of the Phoenix Prize Pack, which return to Star Trek Online on PC from February 28th at 8AM PT til March 7th at 10am PT.
Just like Zefram Cochrane’s experimental vessel, the Phoenix Prize Pack blazes a trail into new frontiers! And, following in the model of its mythological namesake, the Phoenix Prize Pack also represents the return from the ashes of items, ships and other rewards that have been retired from Star Trek Online, and are no longer accessible by any other means. Purchasing and opening this promotional prize pack will offer players the unique opportunity of obtaining many otherwise inaccessible items, ships and equipment, which were previously available from events or promotions, or as other limited-availability rewards.

Bonus Marks Weekend!

This weekend, starting Thursday, February 28th at 8AM PT to Monday, March 4th at 10AM PT, we are running a special event where Captains can earn bonus Marks by playing content throughout the game!
During the event, content that provides Marks (Fleet or Reputation) will reward a 50% (1.5x) bonus above normal amounts – this bonus is available for all content that rewards Marks, including the three new reputations that came to Console with Agents of Yesterday. Start building your Fleet projects and reputations!
We hope you enjoy this special event and we’ll see you in-game!

The Discovery Operations Pack!

The Age of Discovery returns! The danger posed by J’Ula underscores that we have more to learn about this period in our history, and you’re about to encounter it firsthand. Secrets buried and mysteries left unsolved have the potential to send aftershocks rippling through the quadrant. One of the first is the Discovery: Operations Pack. The Operations Pack contains assets that will ensure you’re more than a match for the troubles ahead, whether by cutting-edge tech or elite personnel… or a very grumpy tardigrade.

The Emperor's Lock Box!

The Terran Empire’s latest incursion into the modern universe was accidental but no less effective for it. Details around the actual conflict are tightly classified, but debris and technology from that conflict have appeared in our universe, much to our scientists' delight.
Starfleet, the Lobi Consortium, and a handful of other interested parties have acquired and replicated all manner of interesting tech from the dark side of the mirror. What twisted paths might the Terrans have taken as their trek through the cosmos diverged ever farther from Starfleet’s? What advances unchecked by treaty or conscience have now arrived in our universe? The Emperor’s Lock Box is filled with brutal machinations Emperor Georgiou saw fit to grace with a berth aboard her flagship, the I.S.S. Charon. It contains a ship, space weapons, duty officer assignments, kit modules, and traits. Additionally, each box contains a Terran Fortune Cookie, packed with the wisdom and nutrition of the Terran Empire!
The Mirror Universe is a classic premise given special life by the universe of Star Trek. Dystopias are common, but a dark take on Starfleet is something more—all the understanding, embrace of science, and broad vision of Roddenberry’s creation alloyed with the traditional jackbooted nightmare of a future turned dark, resonating strongly in memories carried by the grandchildren of the wars to end all war. It’s our fervent hope that as you gaze into the mirror and all you know reverses before your eyes, you find something rewarding and new gazing back at you. This lock box will let you use the Emperor’s finest, but take care not to reflect too deeply on these dark designs…
The Emperor’s Lock Box contains a mighty Grand Prize: the Styx Terran Dreadnought Cruiser [T6]. While its origins are undisclosed, some enterprising engineers have produced a ship design clearly inspired by the mighty I.S.S. Charon. Incorporating understanding of the Terran Empire’s military structure, the Styx encapsulates imperial military doctrine. Its hangar bay deploys Magee-class frigates, by mass an order of magnitude more impressive than traditional fighters, by design sadistic and debilitating to ships well above their class. Even as the immense ship and its enormous “fighter” support loom above the battlefield, its opponents shrivel, broken by the agony of Terran majesty. More details about the Styx will be available in a future blog post.

DB COMPETITIONS

Pimp the Fleets V7.0
Start Date: January 1, 2019
End Date: December 31, 2019
Groups involved: All STO playing DB members
Awards: Cr-Q - Cr-D monthly - BN - GN and Cr-E - Cr-D annual
Description:
Every month I will calculate the donations every DB member did to the EH ingame fleets in STO. With those donation points I will built up rankinglists for each fleet section and an overall rankinglist for each fleet. Awards will be Cr-E for first, Cr-T for second and Cr-Q for third in each section, Cr-A for first, Cr-R for second and Cr-E for third overall in each fleet.
At the end of the year, based on the amount of donations, there will be an annual rankinglist for each section and one for each fleet. Annual awards for each section will be Cr-A/Cr-S/Cr-E for 1st/2nd/3rd, for the winners in each fleet Cr-D/Cr-R/Cr-A for 1st/2nd/3rd.
To better compare the monthly donations to both fleets, the participants will earn overall points for placement in the section ranking lists, 4 points for first, 3 points for second, 2 points for third and 1 point for all other participants in that section. These overall points will be summed up for each member and a ranking list based on these will be used to crown the overall winner for the month. First place in that ranking list will receive the prestigious Cr-D, second a Cr-R, third a Cr-A.
These donation points will be summed up and put into a rankinglist at the end of the year. The annual winner in this rankinglist will receive a Gold Nova, the second placed a Silver Nova and third a Bronze Nova.
