This battle offered very little in the way of narrative or complexity and proved it with a completion time of under 15 minutes. The missions tended to be simple to complete, with mission 2 a basic dogfight and mission 3 easily completed, but still taking the bulk of the time even at 4x time acceleration

This was a rare battle where my frustration with it prevented full completion. The first missions were readily completed, with mission 1 requiring no involvement and mission 2 rapid as long as the AW are killed off. Mission 3 was fairly bland but rapid despite a short wait, however mission 4 caused me consistent issues on medium or high difficulty due to the insistence on massed superfighters. A better pilot would likely enjoy the challenge, but it added little to the already fairly lightweight plot.

An extremely difficult battle to enjoy - completion was made more taxing by the odd hypering out of enemy vessels as soon as you take an interest in them, meaning that mission critical craft simply fail to arrive despite lengthy waits at time 4x. The number and quality of missions goals is highly suspect, made worse by a number of vessels being invincible. As noted, the battle is better towards the end, but suffers from a number of fundamental design issues and choices that largely prevented me enjoying it.

I found this battle particularly frustrating and abandoned it without completing it - the last missions is a particularly lengthy dogfight, which proves to be extremely time intensive. This is worse due to the number of aborting fighters preventing completion of goals and requiring further attempts. After 4 attempts I lost patience and moved on to another battle - this is a personal opinion, but I can't recommend it based on the last missions design alone.

A simple and rapid battle to complete, with minimal issues in gameplay beyond a tendency for capital vessels to operate with fighter orders. The narrative is not particularly complex, while it may be annoying to some to be restricted to flying a missile boat for the entire battle - all in all, completed in under 25 minutes with little challenge, but enjoyable enough.

This battle provides an easy opportunity for additional FCHG with little in the way of real challenge, even at higher difficulty levels. The first missions is fairly tedious, due to a lengthy dogfight, which is somewhat mitigated by the rapidity of missions 2 and 3 to complete. Mission 4 is not particularly challenging, as long as the SHU is closely protected. The battle as a whole can be completed in under 30 minutes, with no gameplay issues or apparent bugs.

This battle was refreshing in its clean and functional design, with no real issues experienced in completing it. If I had to pick significant fault with it, I would highlight the final missions as being psychological torture - corvette docking operations took almost half an hour in real time, at which point I left the room and came back a long time later to find the mission complete. Missions 1 to 4 offered a more enjoyable challenge though!

This battle is disappointing, particularly as the dogfighting in the first mission is actually enjoyable and requires savvy use of the right warheads to complete. It is followed by 2 effectively identical missions that are a lot less enjoyable and offer little challenge - the only advantage I can suggest for this battle is that it can be completed fairly quickly, but otherwise offered initial promise that wasn't met beyond the first mission.

This battle was extremely troublesome to complete, leading to having to attempt it several times. While the battle can be readily completed in under 30 minutes, it involves considerable waiting periods for vessels to arrive, followed by long dogfights in poorly selected craft. While it offered some fun moments, all in all I would not fly this battle again and would not recommend it for squadron or wing comps.

The majority of missions in this battle are rapid to complete, helped by the fact you tend to be in a TIE Defender and able to fly rings around the opposition with very little effort or thought. Missions 1 to 5 are all very brief and can be completed in under 2-3 minutes, with basic goals that offer little challenge. M6 is frustrating due to the tendency for vessels to abort and flee to hyperspace before you're able to 100% destroy everything.

This battle can be completed rapidly, largely down to the mission design in which choice of position and repetition of simple tactics allows completion with minimal time or fuss. M1 is basic and requires the destruction of disabled fighters, while M2 can be rapidly completed if you simply lurk around the enemy spawn point, M3 is as simple as rockets and an elastic band over the trigger... Not a bad battle, but lacking complexity - one I would fly again though!

This mission suffers considerably from a lack of attention to detail and padding out of the missions themselves. In essence, two of the missions are completed simply by turning off the engines and increasing time acceleration to 4x - another mission simply requires an inspection to complete the secret orders. In addition, the briefings and layouts are unhelpful and do not clearly match the battle itself when flown. I would not recommend this battle for anything other than rapid FCHG and I would suggest time remains fixed at 4x.

If you want a battle where you are required to continually decimate wave after wave of fighters, this one may be for you - while continual respawning of fighters can be addressed by targeting capital vessels and enemy platforms, it is none the less a single mission somehow extended into a five mission battle. Useful for the FCHG, but by no means particularly enjoyable to actually fly. Not one I would recommend for comp use.

This battle suffers from over complexity and over simplicity at differing points, making the battle itself feel somewhat inconsistent. Some missions could be completed in under a minute dependent on choice of warhead, whereas M3 proved more time consuming due to the ned to await the painfully slow capture of fighters as a goal. The last mission presents a number of issues due to allies attacking a critical vessel, as well as a high number of collisions due to the starting position of forces. This battle represents 6 rapid FCHG points, but may turn pilots off before they complete it fully.

This battle presents very little challenge to pilots looking to gain FCHG points to rapidly climb the ranks - the majority of missions took very little time to complete, with several not requiring much in the way of pilot involvement. As noted by a previous review, it is clear that vessels are operating on starfighter orders, or vice versa, which somewhat stands out during completion.

Unfortunately, this battle is in essence a poor copy of an original (Battle 7) from the TIE Fighter game. While it is rapid to complete and would be an ideal FCHG bump for a new pilot, it offers very little challenge and suffers from a number of minor issues and flaws. In short, the original battle did not need to be copied so obviously, if it was simply the concept being applied differently I would be happy enough, but it's effectively just an imitation. Disappointing to fly, thankfully not for long.

This battle has been consistently overscored by many previous pilots - noting a large number of 4s and 5s, I'm not clear on what basis they assessed it. All 5 missions are near instantaneous to complete and composed largely of targeting capital ships operating under starfighter orders, with briefings of fairly low quality or complexity. While this battle will be readily completed for FCHG in a low period of time, it doesn't have anything to recommend it beyond that point!

Noting the positive earlier reviews of this battle, I'm not able to offer the same positivity. While I have flown this battle several times, it has usually been due to the rapidity of its completion - none of the 6 missions presents significant challenge or interest and can be completed with little to no pilot involvement in under a few minutes, with time acceleration active. I would likely only fly it again if required by a flight comp or a squadron challenge - noting it wouldn't be ideal for either!

The main attraction of this battle can be summarised as the ready speed of its completion - gameplay is largely linear with very little narrative complexity and a low grade of opposition. Th missions are predominantly completed with little to no pilot involvement - M2 is well constructed, but the battle is let down by M3 with a frankly annoying amount of Y-wing destruction using lasers required to complete it. Not a battle I would refly in a hurry.

A distinctly below average battle, most remarkable for the speed if its potential completion. While its preferable to not have to sit for lengthy periods awaiting goal completion, flying a fully armed up missile boat against low level threats for multiple missions unfortunately becomes repetitive and unmemorable. Not terrible, despite a few minor issues, but not one I would refly.
