Destroy a healthy amount of X-Wings and Y-Wings, triggering the withdrawal win condition for the cap ships. That's it. I don't like that the Gunboats are seemingly ordered to take out the cap ships but aren't armed for it at all.

Incredibly straightforward destroy-a-CRS mission. Attack against the Alliance indeed.

On the plus side, a shieldless TIE Interceptor. On the downside, can be done in 90 seconds. Just a bit too simple here.

It's a bit of an odd duck, but it plays well enough

Relatively equal forces collide in a straight-forward us vs. them assault mission. Definitely played as the Gunboat for this one

Destroy three laser batteries. There's some window dressing around that and some T/Bs to aid you, which helps make the mission not as tedious as it sounds... but it doesn't help THAT much.

I have a soft spot for proper unshielded T/I missions, so keep that in mind. But I really loved this one. Great briefing and concept, good fight that, while admittedly mostly about surviving against other TIEs in a big dogfight, also requires protecting your CRV (watch out for those Bombers) and other touches (like the CRV perfectly circling around the factory) that just makes the whole endevour feel extra special.

Only complaint is having to help out the CRV laser down the defenseless factory at the end, but that's a quibble. I loved this one.

Perfectly fine to fly, just let down a bit by being a little obtuse about its secondary goals

Perfectly acceptable IW battle! I did select the B-W flight group every chance I got, as I prefer to be flying the ships that impact the mission objectives directly

Very easy mission to finish very quickly if you are so inclined

Pretty solid capture operation, brought down by a likely long wait time on the ATR to capture

It's definitely a CAB, which I appreciate. Well plotted, well executed. Perhaps one too many capture operations, but they do feel unique. I did enjoy the mix of craft as well, although I'm not sure anyone can make a good TIE Phantom mission, sadly.

Seemingly straightforward operation with some twists. A fun one to fly.

Always nice to fly a T/I, in what is presented as a capture operation but is mostly just a dogfighting exercise

Pretty easy and straightforward cap ship bombing mission. Brought down by needless 2 minute wait up front though.

It's a lovingly done recreation of the original TIE Fighter demo, which I have very fond memories of spending way too much time on. It'll seem like quite the odd duck (albeit very easy) if you're not familiar with the demo, but if you know, you know

It's pretty vanilla, but it plays pleasantly enough and I like the concept behind the plot. Bug in the last mission is definitely a bit of a bummer though

There are a lot of issues here that make for a pretty miserable experience. Mostly, the main issue is fighters not having sufficient armaments to take out the larger ships they are required to destroy, having to rely on cap ships to carry the load - often to ill effect. The default ship is never the heavy assault craft, even though it (arguably) always should be. And there's a pretty major design flaw in mission #7 that can result in a failed mission for most pilots on their first go around.

M2 - Insufficient armament to destroy all targets - you will laser caps (including a shipyard)
M3 - Insufficient armament
M6 - Insufficient armament
M7 - Friendly VSD must be at 25% health to launch ship that must escape to hyperspace for mission to be complete. This will almost certainly require you to fire on your own VSD in order to bring it down to that health, as protecting it is not overtly difficult (and is what you assume you're supposed to do by reading the goals)
M8 - No armament (you will be lasering caps)

The plot of M8 requires the VSD to be destroyed (or very nearly) and for the Escort shuttle to launch and escape in M7. But if you're going to do a plot requirement like that, it has to be CERTAIN that the VSD absolutely WILL not make it. See base game Battle #7 Mission #5 for an example on what that looks like.

Ultimately, not one I'd recommend unless you like lasering capital ships. But be aware of the bugs and issues in Mission #7 before you jump in

A perfectly pedestrian capture operation with a nice minefield (I like mines, I cannot lie) that is somewhat ruined by a 5 minute wait between disabling the platform and the capture transport showing up...

Bit of an odd duck. You don't actually have to destroy the Frigate (whether that's intended or an OR goal gone wrong), so don't focus on that - just take out the CUVs and keep the VSD alive until the docking operations are complete.

Decent Protect and Escort mission (in that order). The two ATRs are a bit much against the CRV, but otherwise no major complaints.
