Welcome all to another COMM report and indeed my last after 5 years in the role. Ignoring the reporting tempo of c.5 months, it's been a busy period and one that has tended to expect a constant presence across the entire range of EH channels and Discord servers. While this has always allowed me to see the fantastic range of squadron and house cultures on offer, as well as the playful antics and banter that goes with them, it's also meant that every time there's an issue or a falling out I've tended to been involved at some point down the line - I hope that's been a positive over the years but at this stage it's probably time for a rest and a more simple life (cue Galen Erso meme...)

I'd like to thank the entire membership for their perseverance and positive efforts to maintain the EH's culture and atmosphere - it's overwhelmingly welcoming, positive and a place where I can see people taking joy in the simple pleasures associated with Star Wars (and a great many tangents) and at the same time being unafraid to support peers through all manner of experiences, good and bad. There aren't many corners of the internet that are generally a safe place, but I'd like to think we've all done our part in maintaining the walls of this one.

At this point I'm not aware of any lingering admin and I'm quite sure the FC, XO and IO (supported by admins and senior officers) will maintain decorum with ease - hopefully you will all see an 'open for applications' announcement soon and I really would urge you all to consider it. This club doesn't maintain itself and COMM is one of those roles where you can contribute a lot without needing any technical understanding or an ability to build missions or databases. If you can be fair, consistent, unbiased and follow due process then you can probably do the job - so put that application in and add to the variety the EH CS already enjoys.

Platforms and Policies

All members are reminded of the importance of following the agreed EH Code of Conduct, an up to date issues of which can be found at the following link - EH CoC

For awareness the CoC (alongside the AoW) has undergone a significant update that remains in draft, currently under FC/XO review and hopefully ready for amends and issue soon, so stay tuned.

The primary platform for communications within the TC and wider EH remains Discord, with the TC, DB and HF maintaining their own servers. All are official EH channels and per the above all members and guests are expected to maintain the family friendly, positive environment that we've been able to sustain. Any individual wishing to join in with the conversation need only select the link or type ehtc.chat into their browser - use of mailing lists continues to dwindle, so continued failure to use Discord will only limit your ability to understand or take part in the club's activities.
