SUPPORT STAFF

These are positions that are not directly part of Special Operations Command or an assigned unit in the Hammer's Fist. They are often positions in support of other officers.

A-X: Assistant to the Special Operations Command (A:X)
Each member of Special Operations Command is authorized to have one full time Assistant assigned to him/her. It will at the discretion of the SOC member as to their Assistant's duties, but it is to be expected that the Assistant will take over for the SOC member in their absence. The exception to this rule is the Prefect; the Vice Prefect will always act in the Prefect's place. The minimum rank for this position is First Lieutenant, the maximum is Colonel. Enlisted members that wish to become an Assistant must hold at least the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and be academically qualified to receive a commission.

The "X" in the position abbreviation is in place of the specific SOC office the Assistant is part of. For example, the Assistant to the Commander of Operations would be abbreviated A:CO, and the ID line designation would be A-3.

Instructor (IN)
The position of Instructor is a part time job that is given to members administering CSMA exams. As this is part time, the Instructor may hold another position within the Hammer's Fist. Instructors may be enlisted or officers and there is no minimum or maximum rank. Instructors are assigned by the Commander of Training.
