ISD Kawolski Christened:  08.26.02
As Emailed From:  Flight Officer (FA Priyum)

It is rare that within the Emperor's Hammer, one individual's achievements, in whichever area, are so profound as to benefit everyone. Even rarer is the case where one individual achieves this many times. One such person was the now retired Sector Admiral Kawolski.

During his tenure as Tactical Officer, Flight Officer and Executive Officer, Alan Kawolski proved himself to be a talented and dedicated member of the EH. His work and commitment as FO & TAC produced the TIE Corps Database and his BSF approval system has helped streamline and automate the high score board and the battle compendium, which now serve as the TC's foundation. As Fleet XO, he set the boundaries of proficiency and excellence that we all now try to adhere to.

In honour of the work and commitment SA Kawolski gave to the Emperors Hammer, the ISD Kawolski is hereby commissioned in the TIE Corps Battlegroups. It takes its place in the Order of Battle as a permanent reminder of what one person can achieve.

The banner is attached, it was done by SCO/RA Ender mBind.

Respectfully,

Fleet Admiral Priyum
Flight Officer & TIE Corps Commander

FA Priyum Patel Awarded Order of the Renegade (OoR) Medal:  08.27.02
As Recommended By:  Training Officer (AD Mell)

(Please see the Operations Manual for medal descriptions)

...Pri has now been Flight officer, TIE Corps Commander over 18 months and in that time it has grown rapidly. Numbers stand now in excess of 2000 which is a vast improvement from the times when he took over FO.

He has also revamped the Squadron management course so that it is current to the fast changing times of the TC, helping to mould better commander for future placements.

In addition to the SM/3 course, there are a new set of fleet standing orders that have helped to provide Guidelines and Protocols for the members to follow, allowing things to become more streamlined and efficient and also are a source of information and help for those that need it, without having to email people. Pri has been very thorough when creating these FSO's...

GMF Keldorn Resigns, Replacement Sought:  08.24.02
As Emailed From:  Former Grand Moff (Keldorn)

EH Directorate (DIR)

<SALUTE>

Good Evening Sector Admiral,

As you're aware I've serious concerns on my ability to perform my duties to the standard that I had done previously. I'm currently employed by the Royal Air Force and have recently been promoted to a new post and have been delegated as the Chair for a new international committee; as you can guess, this is a major step up for me, and the extra work has left me effectively drained, too drained to keep up the amount of EH work I used to pride myself on doing. I'm sure you also agree that RL takes priority over the EH, but the EH has been such a source of enjoyment for me, that I'd not want to give it up...

...Since I want to help the EH in the best capacity that I could, I've considered this for a long time, and see it as the only way I could do so without others relying on me in the same way as my work as GMF. I would never harm the EH, and really would like to help it and the members in the best way that I can...I'd be interested in working with the next GMF until the DIR was fully running, merely a matter of honour if nothing else. I just doubt I can effectively continue to perform my current duties for much longer.

I greatly look forward to your reply, and I you also have my utmost gratitude for placing the trust upon me as an SGCOM, I do so very hope I have not changed your perspective of me for the worst.

Regards.

Flight Office Report:  08.25.02
As Emailed From:  Flight Officer (FA Priyum)

Flight Office

Greetings all,

News -

- There's been quite a few changes amongst the Flag staff in the TIE Corps recently...

Vice Admiral Drake resigned from the EH. The new Battlegroups Commander was Relentless COM, Vice Admiral Krak Tarnisar
To replace VA Tarnisar as RelCOM, we welcome back a former Flight Officer and BGCOM, Rear Admiral Theodore.

In the Avenger Task Force, Vice Admiral Grail SoulChaser retired as Subjugator Commodore, and from the EH itself. Another veteran was welcomed back as the new COM, Rear Admiral Smitrock.

In the Aggressor Strike Force, Vanguard Commodore, Vice Admiral Bevel Leeson, was appointed as the new Command Attach to the Internet Officer. Former Wing XV WC, LC Ekim Yellek was promoted to Rear Admiral and VanCOM.

- We also have a new Combat Operations Officer: Congratulations to Rear Admiral Kyle Katarn, who has already set up rejuvenating multiplayer activity within the TC.

- This year's second batch of Commendations of Loyalty have been awarded, the full list is in the Operations Officer's latest report ( http://www.emperorshammer.net/reports/report.asp?reportid=6965&commandstaffid=7 ). Congratulations to all those that received CoLs.

- I was looking for a new Battlecry Editor, but after discussions with the IO, Fleet Admiral Ari, we've decided that the BC should incorporated into the the EH's new fictional newspaper, the Auroran News Network (ANN). The ANN will keep a humourous aspect to it, much like Battlecry, and any items that were submitted to Battlecry can now be sent to the ANN. All submissions should be zipped and emailed to fo@emperorshammer.org & io@emperorshammer.org

- I'm looking for a new Flight Office banner! I'm getting a bit bored with the old one, so I'd like a new snazzy one, around 400x50 pixels in size. If you have some graphical skills and are not averse to earning yourself a shiny medal, then please have a go. Banners should be zipped and sent to fo@emperorshammer.org

- I'm also looking for TCers that can build levels for Jedi Knight II for a little project. If you're interested, again, please email me at fo@emperorshammer.org.

- Remember: Take the Squadron Management III course! http://www.btinternet.com/~spellfire/sm.html All the chicks (including Ford) dig it.

Project Cordial:  Interview with Joe Corroney Postponed:  08.24.02
As Emailed From:  Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)

Joe Corroney

Fellow Command Staff,

<salute>

I have recently received this e-mail from Mr. Corroney:

Hi Kieran

You'e gonna hate me... but it's down between you and my girlfriend I am moving in with and since she's closer I know that she can hit harder. She rented our moving truck for *this* Sat. which kind of puts a damper on our interview right away. We have to be out of our current apartment by the end of this month so since we have a new place lined up she's decided we're moving this weekend. Can we postpone to later, like the following weekend? Or would a weekday next week work better for you. Weekend would probably suit my schedule better actually. Just hate putting this off since you've been really patient with me. Thanks by the way.
Let me know!
-Joe

I'm thinking about rescheduling the interview for sometime in September.

I would like to remind you of the following interviews:

Matt Busch, Saturday, August 31, 2002, 1 PM EST.

Matt Busch

Ian Listen (Wes Janson), Saturday, September 7, 3 PM EST

Wes Janson (Ian Liston)

They will all be held in #Emperor's_Hammer. :)

We have three busy weeks! :)

EH Wearable Uniform:  08.19.02
As Emailed From:  VA Marcin Szydlowski

<salute>

Hello Sirs.

I saw something on EH page and I thought I will inform you.

Few months ago, together with LCM Jonny Sawicki we have found very talented tailor who agree to make imperial uniforms for us...

This uniform consists only rank badge, however adding something more like medals, etc will not be a problem.

Also, GA's white uniform or EH full dress uniform, just like Jedi robes, etc is not a problem. This tailor can make everything :)

Now, I want to ask you about law regulations about uniforms. I could start making uniforms for a price of production cost + shipment. The best thing is that it would cost less than 100$, probably 90$ + shipment, and maybe around 75$ for bigger orders. We don't get money for it, everything goes for this tailor. However, would LA try to do something with it?

That's all, thank you for your time.

Vice Admiral Marcin Szydlowski
Command Attache to Tactical Officer

Fleet Commander's Note:

I feel that GA's uniform is closer than ever ! :)

Marcin Szydlowski Promoted to Admiral:  08.19.02
As Recommended By:  Tactical Officer (FA Striker)

(Please see Training Manual for rank descriptions)

Greetings,

I would like to recommend my Command Attach Vice Admiral Marcin Szydlowski ( pbmike@go2.pl , #3203) for a promotion to Admiral. He has been my Command Attach for nine months now, and has always shown a deep dedication to his position and the Tactical Office. His contribution is essential to the day-to-day operations of the Tactical Office, and he has even shown he was able to manage the office during my absence. Therefore, in recognition of his longstanding and hardworking performance as Command Attach, I recommend him for a rank promotion to Admiral.

Thank you for your consideration.

Science Office Report #1:  08.20.02
As Emailed From:  Science Officer (RA Ender mBind)

Science Office

Tonight Science will throw its gauntlet into the ugly face of death! Tonight we shall rule the thunder and control the lightning!

<salute>

This here is my first public report as a Science Officer, which yes, I know is a few days late on account of doing Science Office-like things.
(Yes, weve had quite some progress on the Clone Evil Mutated Ewoks project ;) )

Id like to start of with thanking the Fleet Commander and Executive Officer again, but this time publicly, for the chance of being Science Officer. For those that do not know me: Ive mostly been a TIE Bomber pilot in the TIE Corps, with a stint as Wing Commander and Commodore in between, but Ive been Assistant of the Science Office since last winter and before that briefly as SCOA as well. On with the report

Science Office Status:

CA: The new Command Attach for the Science Office is the highly respected and experienced Admiral Darkhill, who has come back in full force after suffering some RL misfortune. AD Darkhill has already been working on several patches for XWA and TIE95.

SCOA: We do not have a Science Office Assistant (or Igor ;) ) at the moment, I will post an application with all the requirements the moment we do actually need one. Till that time please do not bother the Science Office with any applications or hints they will just be left ignored. Also please keep in mind that in fact the old SCOA wasnt too great at his job which is not slicing, but roaming the web looking for slicing news, new programs, games, reviews and such. If I do want a SCOA, Id expect him/her to do just that. Other, more slicing directed, positions might be a thing for the future if needed.

Site: As I planned, Ive mostly completed the redesign for the SCO site, which has now already replaced the temporary site. The Science Office site can be found at http://sco.minos.net or via the redirect http://scienceoffice.isCool.net. As you will see it is mostly still the data from the temporary site, but it is further updated. What has been added is the Guide Archive, with guides on installing custom missions and patches,
the version guide, technical specifications and other such help. This is also where the updated SCO-FAQ is now located. The Slicing Forum also has been updated to fit the site better.

Science Office Projects:

New Site: As reported above, everything is proceeding exactly as I have foreseen. What still needs to be done is mostly php work: as the File and Patch archives are still not updated from their temporary status. These will be replaced by a compendium much like the Battle Centre: with mirrors for the files, data on each patch, ratings, reviews and bug reports. This compendium will also be linked to the Fleet Manual, which also still needs to be updated. Id like to thank the IO Ari and IOA Leeson for their support.

XWA Custom Briefings: CA:SCO Darkhill has been working on perfecting his new patch to allow us to use custom sounds during XWA briefings. A beta version is available at http://www.geocities.com/cobolt_dink/BriefingLauncher.zip. It still features some problems, which revealed themselves through testing, but please do test it as well and report your findings to the Science Office we might always have overlooked something. A very interesting development is that the same technique can lead to a patch that allows custom sounds in TIE95.

OPTing Course: The OPTing course has been released by the Training Officer and is available at http://www.gimmie.tudelft.nl/homes/blok10b/ender/iwats. OPTing is craft creation for XWA, XvT/BoP and the 95 versions of TIE and
X-W and can definitely add that extra touch to your battles and missions. Please do not be scared off by the volume of notes, that doesnt make the test any harder only easier as theres a lot of explanation on each subject. It does mean that you can do your own craft instead of asking the SCO for them

XvT/BoP/TIE95 Ship patches: This projects goal is to add all the original and Order of Battle craft that are still missing from these games, like
the SSD in TIE and XvT, the Medium Transport in all etc While pretty far already (about 70% done), the actual creation has been put on hold for
testing and more pressing matters, like the site. However, I did manage to do a fly-by on a Super Star Destroyer in TIE95 last weekend.

Project Segway SCO section: This projects goal is to create a total Imperial/EH conversion of XWA. For the SCO section this means the addition of all the missing craft, plus additional features like EH-FG colours on all existing craft and additional craft and astronomical objects. This project is well under way as well, but currently on hold for the same reasons as the XvT/BoP/TIE95 patches.

Other projects are being considered, or even under way: A Science Manual with all the procedures of the SCO including requirements on craft/patch submission. The OPS and I have come to some kind of deal on a future medal for patch and craft creation, much like the MoT: the Medal of Engineering. Everything is still pending, but you can already take it into account for future reference.

Finishing up:

I think that's it If I've forgotten anything or if you have comments, suggestions or corrections, let me know via email.

(use only mindb_ender@hotmail.com for official SCO mails.) or ICQ (9706474). Preferably do not mail large files to me, but DCC them via IRC Im practically always online at #emperors_hammer and #tiecorps using the nick MindB_ndr (or variations.)

All my SCO reports are online as well: you can reach them on the TC database.

http://www.emperorshammer.net/reports/default.asp?commandstaffid=10

Until next time, good luck and have fun!

With increasing duties as Grand Moff, our current webmaster, ROA Keldorn has little time to update our webpage. Keldorn has done a great job as webmaster, and I really respect him for his work and his dedication to his duties as Grand Moff.

I would like to start looking for a new webmaster. If you are interested, please e-mail High Admiral Keiran Idanian with a link to your work. I would like to have an ASP or PHP website, but classic HTML with a good presentation is just as good. :)

If you are accepted as new webmaster, you will be appointed as ROA, and once the website is completed, be awarded for your work. You will also be awarded every now and then for maintenance work. :) Thank you!

Security Officer Report:  08.23.02
As Emailed From:  Security Officer (FA Brad)

Security Office

Greetings all.

I was appointed as the Security Officer early this week and now it is report time.

I am reviewing one complaint right now. There were some issues that people told me about on IRC this week also.

Please remember, to file a complaint e-mail me with the actual log file with the entire conversation.

Say you were online in a channel from 10:34 to 12:04, I want to see that entire log file. Please do a /whois on all of the accused members and submit that to me in your e-mail or in a separate file. It helps to set timestamps on for logfiles in your IRC program. On mIRC, go to options, IRC, then logging and check Timestamp logs.

On IRC, the IRC Codes of Conduct, Articles of War and Bylaws apply only in official EH channels. These channels are official when EH business is conducted in it. (i.e. talking about and discussing EH events, planning EH activities and/or meetings where EH business is discussed). The channel does not have to be a registered channel or SubGroup channel to be an official channel. (Ship channel, DB Clan Channel, TC Squadron channel, etc.)

For now I will say use the chain of command whenever possible. I will discuss it in more detail next week.

Also, please do not apply to be Command Attach unless if I ask for them. If I do, it will be in my weekly reports.

Respectfully Submitted,

Fleet Admiral Brad

The Dark Voice:  08.22.02
As Emailed From:  Shadow Adept/Chancellor Pharaun "Shadonyx" Illistyn

The Dark Brotherhood of Jedi

Greetings Brotherhood Members,

I come before you to discuss the Dark Voice, newsletter of our organization. As you know, the Dark Voice gives every member in the
Brotherhood a chance to display their works of fiction, graphics, music, and game skills. Recently, a How-To, Screenshot, and Music section has been opened in the publication. The purpose of the How-To section is for people to write articles that describe how to do something; perhaps giving tips on an XWA mission, or how to write better. The Screenshot section is a chance for game players to do interesting things within the game and then show it off the Dark Voice. The Music section is a chance for composers to show off their musical skills.

For Dark Voice 30, I will debut another new section: the Level Section. Here, any level designers may submit any XWA, XvT, TIE, JK1 or JK2 levels
they have designed. If there is enough interest in this section, I will hire a new staff members whose job it will be play through submitted levels to determine a Level of the Issue, which will be honored with a Dark Cross, as well as a Dark Side Scroll.
Speaking of awards, I'll discuss those for a minute:

- For every submission you make to the Dark Voice, you earn a Dark Side Scroll. So, if you submit two pieces of fiction and one graphic, you get
three Dark Side Scrolls.

- Each section is given a "[Section Name] of the Issue". The submissions picked for these titles are given a Dark Cross in addition to the Dark Side
Scroll.

- Fiction submissions that are long (generally over ten pages) may be split up into separate pieces and each showcased in multiple Dark Voice issues. In such cases, the writer is given a Star of Eos for writing the feature.

Houses and Clans should be proud to submit to the Dark Voice. Therefore, to the House that has the most submissions, I will give a Dark Voice
Citation that will be label the House as the top submission provider for whatever issue, provided that at least 50% of the House submits to the Dark Voice. A new page will be added to the Dark Voice to list such Citations, and this will begin with Dark Voice 30 (it will not be retroactive).

All submissions should be sent to myself ( shadonyx@borkweb.com ) and my Praetor, Korbane Ashoka ( Okinawa_Marine@scubadiving.com ). The target date for Dark Voice 30 is September 14th, so get those submissions in! The guidelines for submissions may be found under each section in the Dark Voice, although I will be adding in a separate page for that soon. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Shadow Adept/Chancellor Pharaun "Shadonyx" Illistyn

EH Surpasses 5,000 Total Members:  08.17.02
As Submitted From:  Fleet Commander (GA Ronin)

Fellow Imperial Citizens !

I don't know if anyone saw the EH Roster, but we're at 5,028 total Members !!!!  NEVER in the history of this club (since December 1994) have we passed the 5,000 Member mark.

Since I have traditionally tasked the Executive Officer (XO) with increasing our Total Membership, he is the first I will congratulate...Fine job, SA Astatine...!!!  You have accomplished what no other XO (not to belittle the previous XO's efforts of course !) has been able to and have truly led this club (sometime by sheer force of will :) to this new achievement !!!

Secondly, the Command Staff...(pat yourselves on the back now)...Without your hard work, talents and long hours of volunteered time, we'd never be where are today...the largest, best organized, one of the longest-running Star Wars gaming clubs on the web...bar none...!

Lastly...Thanks for ALL of the EH Members' hard work to get us here...This club was created for by you and for you ! ...Please continue to make the EH the best SW gaming club on the web and we'll be well on our way to 10,000 Members !!! :)

FA Stalker Resigns as Security Officer (SO), FA Brad Appointed as Replacement:  08.14.02
As Emailed From:  Former Security Officer (FA Stalker)

Security Office

Resignation

During the last few weeks, my time for handling EH matters has declined. The time has now come for me to make my intentions known, I hereby resign from the position of Security Officer of the Emperor's Hammer effective immediately.

For over two years now, I've been doing very demanding jobs within the EH.  Firstly Supreme Director (SDIR) and now Security Officer (SO), my time required for the EH has stayed constantly high and I feel it's high-time I took some rest. My time in these positions has been both rewarding and gratifying, and I thank all who have worked with my during that time. I want to take this time to thank especially FA Brad, who was first mentor to me and attach during my time as Security Officer.

With that thanks comes a request... I hereby officially recommend FA Brad for the position of Security Officer, he's far more qualified than I ever was and has a great attitude for the job. Myself, I wish to return to my advisory position within the Intelligence Division and will hopefully return to command someday, when time allows.

Thank you for your time, that will be all.

FA Ari Awarded Grand Order of the Emperor (GoE) Medal:  08.16.02
As Recommended By:  FL/CM Zekk Terrik/Psi 3-1/Wing II/SSSD Sovereign

(Please see the Operations Manual for medal descriptions)

<<<SALUTE>>>

Sir,

I was browsing through random TC personnel profiles of people I knew out of sheer boredom, and came across my good friend IO/FA Ari's profile, and was shocked to learn that he had nothing more than a GS to show for almost a year's (a year on August 26th) worth of IO work. And, in this time, he's accomplished about as much as most people do in 3 years of work. I would like to recommend FA Ari for the Grand Order of the Emperor medal; I feel he has been sorely overlooked.

I don't know where to start listing FA Ari's accomplishments, and I know I'm gonna forget some because it's really late and I'm running out of Jolt Cola. In a year's time he has created EH Sabacc and Project Hawkeye. He has written an XML inclusion tutorial and done numerous sites (among them, House Galthain's and Clan Satal Keto's). He has managed and administrated all IO projects, including (but not limited to :)): MinosNIC, EHHA, My EHNet, Banner Exchange, and the IO Code Archive. He has overseen the development of the PHP and JavaScript IWATS courses. And, along, with all this, he watches over the message boards and IRC and helps people with PHP troubles.

Trust me, the list just goes on and on like this. I trust you will agree with me when I say he is well qualified for the Grand Order of the Emperor.
His actions have gone far towards making the Fleet better.

EH Official Wearable Uniform Project:  08.16.02
As Emailed From:  Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)

Greetings,

<salute>

It is my great pleasure to present the first prototype of the EH wearable uniform. I used my Calvary Civil War uniform as a base. Nothing was changed in the uniform, except for the addition of the EH logo to the right arm, as something to show who we are with. :)

The following are the dimensions I used:
    FCHG - 1 Inch
    Medals - 10% Size Increase
Position (Collar Badge) - Resized: Width - 2 inches,
    Height - 2.41 Inches
    Rank - Width - 3.5 inches, Height - 2.5 inches
Armband (EH Logo) - Width - 3.50 Inches,
    Height - 2.62 inches
    Wings - Width - 3.81 inches, Height - 1 inch
    Belt - Normal black belt
Lightsaber - Custom design and construction by Keiran Idanian
Dagger - Stand in, bought at nearby Cutlery Store

For the medals, rank and position badges, armband, and wings, I used the EH records, printed the image out and pasted it to black cardboard project paper, that can be bought at any shopping store. Then, I placed the image and cardboard between two heavy books and let them sit for about six hours. Once they were firm and dry, I cut the image out and what I couldn't cut well, I colored in with black Sharpie. Finally, I taped the images to the uniform. Since this is a prototype, I just used tape, otherwise I would have sewed the images on.

XO Report #15:  08.11.02
As Submitted From:  Executive Officer (SA Astatine)

Office of the XO

The CO review continues. This week, I mailed out the COs' subordinates to get their views of the people they work for. Once the replies are in
I'll be able to finish compiling the review and submit it to the FC.  The review will not be all negative. Quite a few COs have positive recommendations including promotions and/or medals for their work.

You have one week to get submissions in for the next NL. This next NL will put us back almost on schedule, which is a good thing. Then we can
start entering a regular, consistant timetable for submissions and release times. With some of the recent trials, there have been elements of the EH that think it's ok to mock or bait those who have been through a trial or their friends. I've posted a news item on the TC and DB sites about this.

The roster count is currently around 4888. All areas showed an increase this week, except the BHG, which went down about 50.

<SALUTE>

GA Ronin and SA Astatine,

At this time, I wish to trade in my Advisor badge for a slot in the Reserves. I've had a great time being amongst the members of the club and making many new friends. I have enjoyed my time serving the club from the command ranks, but I feel it is time to move on and pursue real life and other interests.

I have been honored to serve in this position, and I am happy to see that an interest for Multiplayer is still alive in the club. Hopefully another Combat Operations Officer will be able to take up the position and offer new and interesting ways for the EH to participate in Multiplayer.

My friends will still be able to get me on AIM, ICQ, etc. for chat, of course.

I would like to thank you both for the help you've given me during my tenure in this position.

Thank you for your time.

Tests Marked this week: 18

***ATA Required (Still)***
To help revamp AoT site. Requires excellent web programming skills. ATA is a secondary position which may be held in addition to another position held within the ID. See the Fieldcraft Manual (under UBIQ) for further details of this post. Applications to ttdr@ehintel.org Links to previous examples of your work would be appreciated.

***Answers for Tests...***
This week someone asked me if I'd send out the corrections for the tests I've marked so that they can learn from their mistakes. While I don't like
to give out the corrections having marked a test (for two reasons: a) It would be much easier for unscrupulous folk to cheat at AoT tests. They could get their mate to do the test, I send him the answers and they get 100% on every test... and b) Its quite a lot of effort going through every test and doing it - Enough paperwork is involved already.) I am willing to answer any specific queries regarding anything you are unsure of anywhere in the ID - just email me and I'll sort it out for you. My duties as TTDR are not just restricted to the AoT - ask me about anything and I'll try to help you.

***Roster update week***
The roster is going threw a major overhaul. Join dates, promotion dates, and  everything else we can think of is getting verified. After this is completed the UBIQ hope to hand out the "congrats you survived X years" awards.

PREX Corporate Division Report #35:  08.12.02

Corporate Division (CD)

Howdy,

I've seen some progress from all of the Corps, and even Direx Members this week as well, so I'm very pleased with the activity this week.

-----

Our roster have continued to grow over the last few weeks. We are currently sitting at 107 members.

Command - 7
Trade Assembly - 53
Reserves - 37
TOTAL - 108

*My apologies for leaving this out in the last few reports.

-----

VPP Leeson has been hard at work in the last while. We now have the ability to play Sabacc online for real credits. All you have to do is goto http://ehnet.org/sabacc and fill in the appropriate information. Remember any gains or losses go right to your iBank account, so wager wisely.

VPP Leeson has also recoded some of the back end positioning and promotion scripts to make it easier to do. Now all we need is some recommendations to try it out. Also, DCs and CEOs can use the forms to request the promotions etc.

-----

As I mentioned in my last report, it is time again for Commendation of Loyalty recommendations. If you would like to recommend someone for a CoL, please e-mail me with the name, and reasons.

-----

VPX Trow, and EO Tempest have been working on the CD uniforms and a program that will make them for us. I have seen the uniforms they have produced, and they look really good. Keep up the good work gentlemen.

-----

Earlier this week, we had someone trying to award medals for things they were designed to award. Please make sure you read the manual, and have sufficient reasoning behind your request before it is made.

-----

I believe that is it for this week. Keep up the good work people.

Call for Nominees - Fleet Commander's Birthday Awards:  07.31.02
As Emailed From:  Operations Officer (FA Howlader)

Its that time of year folks, the time when we all gather around the Ronin-Tree, and celebrate the birth of our Fleet Commander, GA Ronin. That
means, recommendations for the Commendation of Loyalty! (YAY!) Nothing has changed since January...but since a great deal has changed (in terms of personnel) since January, I'll refresh everyone's memory.

For the TIE Corps:
Each squadron commander can send any number of recommendations for awards to their respective Wing Commander. The Wing Commander chooses three (3) awards. Then these recommendations are forwarded up the chain of command to the respective Commodores and Battlegroup Commanders, making any possible corrections. Then the Battlegroup Commander collects the  recommendations for his Battlegroup, and emails them to the Operations Officer, CC'ing the Flight Officer. Also, each Battlegroup Commander has the discretion to award a maximum of three (3) awards to his Flag Officers.

For elite squadrons (Avenger, Praetorian, Tau, and Omega), the commander can recommend up to one (1) award to their Battlegroup Commander (Omega - SovCOM; Avenger - ASF BGCOM), in the case of Praetorian and Tau Squadron, the CMDR will directly email the Operations Officer, also CC'ing the Flight Officer.

For the Dark Brotherhood:
Each Clan Consul will have the ability to recommend up to three (3) members from their clan to the Chancellor of the Brotherhood and the Grand Master. The Grand Master will also have a special discretionary award up to a maximum of five (5) awards. These final recommendations will be sent by the Grand Master to the Operations Officer.

Other Subgroups:
Each Subgroup (other than the Brotherhood) will have the opportunity to recommend a maximum of ten (10) awards. These will be sent directly to the Operations Officer.

Command Staff/Advisors:
Each CO will be allowed a small indeterminate level of awarding, to be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. These recommendations also go to the Operations Officer.

***ALL recommendations must have the subject heading: "CoL Reccs" or they will be ignored***

Recommendations are due August 19th, at Midnight Eastern Time. Absolutely no recommendations will be accepted after that. That gives you nearly three weeks, that should be sufficient time.

Order of the Renegade (OoR) Medal Awarded to GN Devin:  07.30.02
As Recommended By:  COM/VA Proton/SSSD Sovereign

(please see the Operations Manual for medal descriptions)

I would like to recommend General Devin, retired commander of Omega Squadron, for the Order of the Renegade.

I've had the pleasure of serving with Devin directly for more than two years (first during my clone Gallows' stint in Omega, and later as SovCOM). I've not seen a better example of an experienced Imperial officer during this time, in terms of Devin's expert leadership, unsurpassed judgment and obvious love for the elite Omega Squadron and the Emperor's Hammer. Earlier, he had major involvement in various important EH positions.

Devin has been with the EH for 6 1/2 years and bows out with a record of accomplishment and outstanding citizenship that should be envied, admired and respected by all of us. He has the right stuff and embodies the ideal of the Order of the Renegade.

Please send this on up the chain of command for the necessary consideration.

Thanks,

The review of COs is moving onto the SGCOM stage. This review will be using criteria such as websites, reports, etc. So for those of you
without operational sites, now would be a good time to get them up </hint>. As mentioned in the last XO report, the review will contain a
recommendation for each CO, which can range from a reward for good service to removal.

My XOA is back from leave, so we should be expecting a new Newsletter soon. I'm just waiting for a decent number of submissions to build up.
This coming NL should be the last of the "rush jobs" to get back on schedule. After that, a full month can be allocated for submissions, as well as a proper deadline/release time table. One of the upcoming NLs will be a BHG "feature" edition, so if you're a BHG member, ask Trench  about the details.

With the new HI, HA Royal, I've put forward the suggestion that now would be a good time to start thinking about ways to improve the EH's
justice system. This doesn't just cover the HCI, but could include other areas too, such as how the cases are handled, gathering of evidence, procedures and so on. If you have any ideas or suggestions on how you think the justice system could be improved, feel free to send them to me. On the subject of justice, just because there isn't an Abuse of Power charge anymore, that doesn't make it okay to conduct personal vendettas against other members and abuse your position and power.

The roster is continuing its generally upwards trend. The main gains continue to be the DB (36) and the BHG (18). Based on the numbers I've
got, that puts the roster around 4,850.

As Emailed From:  Reconnaissance Officer (HA Keiran Idanian)

Greetings,

On Tuesday, July 30, the 13th - 14th if you count e-book Recovery - New Jedi Order book was released to the public.

Below is a summary of the book, as found on the back:

"After the capture of Coruscant, the might heart of the New Republic, a stunned galaxy fears that nothing can stop the Yuuzhan Vong. Still, that crushing defeat produces one small miracle: Jacen Solo is alive. Yet he can scarcely imagine himself in a stranger circumstances.

The young Jedi Knight is in the care of Vergere, a fascinating creature of mystery and power, her intentions hard to fathom, her cruelties rarely concealed. But this master of inscrutable arts has much to teach the you Jedi... for she holds the key to a new way to experience the Force. To take it to another level-dangerous, dazzling, and perhaps deadly.

In the wrong hands, the tremendous energies of the Force can be devastating. And there are others watching Jacen's progress closely, waiting patiently for the moment when he will be ready for their own dire purposes. Now, all is in shadows. Yet whatever happens, whether Jacen's newfound mastery unleashes light of darkness, he will never be the same Jedi again..."

IO Unveils MyEHNet:  07.19.02

My EHNet - An EH'ers Home Page!

One of the largest endeavors of the Internet Office has finally been released as of today! Ladies and gentlemen, it is my extreme pleasure to present to you My EHNet or also known as MyDot at http://my.ehnet.org! MyDot is a project that is completely coded by our very own IOA Alex Foley ( alexfoley@dombek.com ). Alex has been working on MyDot for about a month now, and his work and effort put into it matches the quality of the final result! My EHNet allows you to customize your very own EH start page with news and information from all over - TC news, BHG news, random IRC quotes, World News, Sports news, Internet news and LOTS, LOTS MORE! There are over 30 blocks to choose from and 8 different themes for the site so that you can view the site to YOUR preferences. That's not all! My EHNet comes with a fully functional EH search engine! Currently, there aren't as many links as we'd like, but we hope that EVERYONE will submit a link (http://my.ehnet.org/submit.php) to their own personal EH webpages. The more sites we get, the better the search engine works! Also, CA:IO Mutilator is working on a full-indexing search engine which will not only search the sites in the database, but it will search the actual pages of each site, such as Yahoo or AltaVista. For his hard work on a simply superb site both in appearance and coding, I am awarding IOA Alex Foley a Gold Star! What I really hope is that many EHers actually do take advantage of My EHNet and set it as their homepages, and tell your friends about it too! I know I definitely will!

More info about My EHNet and the IO's new medal giveaway in IO Report #48!

Sabacc Online and IO Graphics Creation Service:  07.26.02

Biggest news of the week: after a week of working and testing, I am finally proud to present to you Sabacc Online version 2.0! You can find the new version of Sabacc Online at http://www.ehnet.org/sabacc/ and it has been added to the links section of the IO Report. Though I should've done this update a long time ago, I'm glad I did it now because I've had the opportunity to learn better techniques in streamlining the code. For those interested, the updates include BHG login support, using objects and classes instead of arrays for the hand and the deck, values for cards 12-15 are now negative like the rules state, betting limits are higher (half the hand pot), hand pot cap is 500,000 and sabacc pot cap is 1,000,000. Lots of other small things too...I've reduced the length of the file to half (from 1606 lines to about 837) which should mean quicker processing and more efficient handling of many users. Although BHG support works, your credits will not be updated until the new version of the BHG Roster is completed by Koral.

And yet another new project! The IO Graphics Creation Service, which is run by former IOA Keldorn. You can order custom-made graphics for your EH website at http://www.kweeky.net/gcs/.

Hawkeye 2 development is underway - IOA Leeson is working on the trailer currently with Keldorn. IOAs Alex Foley and Turtle are working on a site which you'll find familiar if you've read the Hawkeye Aftermath ( http://hawkeye.ehnet.org/after/ ) - that's right, VeriNEXT will be making an appearance once again in Hawkeye II (there's your first clue as to the plot :P). Mutilator and I will be working on some new tools for the Hawkeye Agent's Datapad. Projected date of release of the Hawkeye II Qualification Test is October 18.

Executive Officer Report/Newsletter No. 85 Posted:  07.21.02
As Compiled by:  Executive Officer (SA Astatine)

Office of the XO

Newsletter #85 - 4.57 MB ZIP File

(Please review our past Newsletters !)

Newsletter 85 is out. It's a bit thin, mainly because I'm in the process of turning out NLs quickly to catch up. One or two more NLs and  I'm back on schedule. You can grab the NL as a zip file at

http://www.ehnet.org/nl/hammer85.zip or http://swx.ca/nls/eh/zips/hammer85.zip.  It's also available online at

http://www.ehnet.org/nl/85/.

Thanks to Ari and Abk for providing the mirror space. My assistant is on leave for a couple of weeks, so this is a prime time to get submissions in. I'll be sending whatever I have when he gets back straight to him.

I will be finishing a review of COs soon. To be fair, it will only include those who were in their positions when I got XO. It will cover
a variety of criteria and I will be making recommendations at the end, which will range from removal from position all the way through to an
award or promotion. This is all part of a regular review I will be doing and is one of my goals stated when I first got XO - to increase the quality of the COs we have. The better the COs, the more fun the members have. Which is what this is all about.

I've purchased some space on Crystaltech. This space will serve a bunch of functions. Firstly, I'll be putting the TO site back on there. I've
been given a new layout and I'll be doing some speed-coding to get it up and running. All course professors will be given FTP passwords,
increasing the turnaround for course updates. Secondly, the space will be used as an offloading area to ease the strain on the TC domain.
Currently, the TC domain regularly breaks its traffic limit due to the sheer volume of hits. I'm hoping that offloading certain content will
decrease this traffic load. Certain sites such as the XO site and DGM sites will also be moving across. An added benefit of all this is decreasing the disk space being taken up, which is better used for the (always expanding) database.

The roster count seems to be all over the place lately. The TC, DB, BHG, Senate and CD all registered increases. However, the HF went down
because of an AWOL check. Currently the EH is sitting around 4,730. It would be really nice to see the EH hit 5,000 and I may look into some
sort of organised recruitment effort to achieve this. The TIE Corps platform ownership stats increase at an almost uniform pace. The idea behind tracking these numbers was to see if we could determine if any platforms were gaining more support than others. This would help plan
any future platform migrations in the TIE Corps. More tracking will probably be needed.

Hammer's Fist (EH Stormtroopers)

Hello sirs,

Thought this might be interesting for you. I have finished a new medal image (attached) for the Hammer's Fist. It is the first new image since 2001. The Distinguished Service Star is our third highest award. Perhaps something to show off on the Domain.

ISD Vanguard Model Competition:  07.19.02
As Emailed From:  FL/CM Serge Broskopf/Mantis 3-1/Wing XV/ISD Vanguard

ISD Vanguard scale model related competitions.

I am currently a plastic scale model of a scale model of an ISD. As I am personally stationed aboard the Vanguard and I don't plan on transferring out soon, I would like to baptize the model the Vanguard! The model is intended to be displayed at the 5th anniversary party of my local hobby store. For that purpose, the model will have fiber optic lighting, engine lights and its very own music installation! But, to draw attention even more, I'd like the help from everybody aboard the Vanguard. Wing XV! I need your help and therefore I have made up this dual competition! Now, what do I need?

First of all, a background poster! Something commercial for the Vanguard, Wing XV or the TIE Corps as a whole. Nothing big here. The bigger challenge, and also something which I believe has never been done in the Emperor's Hammer before, is the sound part of the competition. Or better, the music part. Like I said, the Vanguard will have its own music installation, but that means I need music to play! I could just use Star Wars music, but I'd rather fill a CD with creations of the Vanguard crew. Remixing music isn't that hard and using a simple program such as Windows' standard sound recorder is sufficient. This is the scary part of the competition, as I don't know whether I'll get a lot of submissions. But I want some! This is new and I think it is worth a shot. It really isn't that hard. More details about these competitions at the URL I created: http://users.pandora.be/bert.dujardin/ISD_Vanguard_model_competitions.htm

There, it says when the competition takes place, what is needed more exactly and where to submit stuff.

So, I want that model to be the only thing worth checking out at the celebration. All other models present should become transformed into faint memories as soon as one lays eye on the Vanguard! Because the Emperor's Hammer rules, now doesn't it? But I can't do that by myself! I need Wing XV's help! Are you with me? AY! DO MANI!!

Retirement of Former CA:FC Devin:  07.21.02
As Emailed From:  General Devin

Gents, it's time for me to go....

I have spoken briefly with Proton about this, but it's time for me to step down as CMDR of Omega and move into the Reserves. My enthusiasm for the EH has slowly withered and is now at the point where it takes an extreme amount of effort to perform even the most basic of administrative duties. It also doesn't help that I've recently taken on a second job and am now sometimes working 16-18 hours a day, and I do not ever have a complete day off. I'm just tired.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision for me to make and one I've been putting off. There is so much more I know that Omega can accomplish and it hurts a bit to know I won't be the one leading the way. I'm also a bit disappointed that I couldn't accomplish all the goals I had set out for myself and the squadron, but I have faith that they will be reached. I've seen so many people come through the EH and seen a lot of changes in my 6 1/2 years in this club - it's been a really wonderful thing to see. I hope that it continues and that people will keep getting as much enjoyment and fun out of this club as I have.

As for the details... I would like to promote from within the squadron, but I don't know if any of you gentlemen are up for the task. It will
require a great deal of commitment. We'll have to arrange for transfer of the domain name, IRC bot, etc. - but this is something we can discuss in the coming days. Evil FO, if you'd be so kind as to delay my transfer until we get a replacement ready, I'd very much appreciate it.

Ronin, thank you so very much for the EH.

Now everyone to the cantina. Once we get done destroying Joe's credit limits, I still have the keys to the Admiral's Lounge and know the
secret Inquisitor handshake. I say we go on a tear and piss off some of the brass before I retire to the PLT Dagger and the lake o' beer (it
does exist - check your EH history foo!)

Respects,
