Krath

Early Years
Many of the origins of the Krath Order are enshrouded within the mists of time. What is known is that four thousand years ago, the Jedi were numerous and powerful throughout the Galaxy, but it was also a time when thousands of Force-sensitive individuals (including those who had potential to be Jedi Knights) were succumbing to the Dark Side's fascination. In those days there was a star system called "The Empress Teta System," after a female warlord who had conquered and united its seven worlds in the early days of space travel. As the millennia passed, the Teta system, situated deep in the galactic core, became the prime source of carbonite.

The descendants of Empress Teta were still the figurehead rulers of the seven worlds, but they had been largely forced to share their power with the commercial interests that had developed the carbonite mines. Together, the Tetan royalty and the wealthy mine owners formed an elite society, a tightly knit group that reigned over multitudes of the less fortunate. The sons and daughters of these elite were a self-indulgent lot with a good deal of leisure time on their hands. As a way of amusing themselves, these young aristocrats began dabbling in the lore of primitive magic. At some point in their mischievous experiments, the young Tetans crossed an invisible threshold and tapped into a stratum of magic that unleashed its malign mental reality with unexpected power. What had started as a game suddenly grew serious and took on a life of its own.

Aleema and Satal Keto
In the following weeks, this sinister power reshaped the minds of the young Tetan elite and began to transform them into powerful magicians. Under the guidance of Satal Keto, the first of the group to fall, the young Tetans formed a secret society dedicated to the Dark Arts. Together with his sister, Aleema, Satal was heir to the throne of the Empress Teta system. They traveled the galaxy searching for ancient Sith relics and came to war-torn Onderon, where they were confronted by the spirit of the dead Sith Master Freedon Nadd. They fled Onderon with an extensive collection of Sith artifacts. With the knowledge they gained from these items Aleema brought down her parents with visions and images. Aleema and Satal claimed the throne of Empress Teta for themselves.

Ulic Qel-Droma
Ulic Qel-Droma was born on Alderaan in 4018 BBY. His mother was a powerful Jedi Master, but despite this she was unwilling to train Ulic or his brother Cay. Ulic instead took part in many mental and physical competitions and his energy and ambition soon allowed him to defeat any who stood against him. When his Force potential could no longer be ignored, Ulic and his brother were apprenticed to Jedi Master Arca Jeth. Their apprenticeship consisted mainly of accompanying the Master to various worlds on diplomatic and peacekeeping duties and it was on one such mission that they were sent to the world of Onderon, where a civil war had been continuing for centuries. Ulic would eventually be greatly influential in ending the conflict, but not before the spirit of Freedon Nadd had decreed that Ulic himself would become one of the greatest Sith ever known. They also found out from Nadd the existence of the Krath Sect in Empress Teta.

Ulic and the Krath
Ulic and his newfound companion, Nomi Sunrider, led an assault on the Empress Teta System. However, Aleema Keto used her Krath magic to hide the true numbers of the Krath forces and the Republic fleet was unprepared and quickly defeated. Ulic himself was hurt in the battle, but Nomi healed him. The Jedi reassembled to debate the threat. Ulic argued that a suitably prepared Jedi could infiltrate the Krath sect and attack them from the inside. Ulic's words rang true to the other Light Jedi: "We are witness to sinister developments... A war with the Krath might last for years. Many Jedi will die, and what will be gained by this bloodshed? We will have slain thousands, but the Krath themselves will survive, their dark powers intact." Before anything could be decided the assembled Jedi were attacked by Krath assassin droids. Master Arca Jeth was killed in the attack and Ulic blamed himself. Against the advice of Nomi, Ulic embarked upon his plan. Prior to leaving, Ulic and Nomi gave into their love for each other, breaking the Jedi code.

Ulic arrived in the Tetan city of Cinnagar in time to see Aleema Keto presiding over a public execution. The condemned broke free and Ulic attempted to prove his false loyalty by striking the man down before he could harm Aleema. Although Aleema was thankful for his actions, her brother Satal was not convinced. He tortured Ulic and infected him with Sith chemicals. Soon afterwards Nomi Sunrider and Cay Qel-Droma attempted to contact Ulic by traveling to Cinnagar. In order to keep up the pretense, Ulic had Nomi imprisoned, but Satal Keto overheard a conversation between them and sentenced them both to death. Nomi escaped and brought Kay to rescue Ulic, but Ulic refused to leave and in a rage struck down Satal Keto as revenge for Arca Jeth. Cay and Nomi begged Ulic to come with them, but he stayed behind with nothing but his anger to console him. They came to rescue him once more, but he denounced them as pawns of the Jedi and fought them off with a newly found Sith amulet. Soon after Ulic was found by the Sith Exar Kun and the two fought in a titanic display of Sith power. As they fought, the ancient Sith Marka Ragnos appeared to them and decreed that they would be master and apprentice Sith, who would return the Sith to their former power. Together with Aleema Keto's Krath and their allies the Mandalorians, they embarked upon a conflict which would be know as the Great Sith War.

The Krath Holy Crusade
Between 3,997-3,996 years BBY during the Great Sith War the Krath began a series of conquests throughout the galaxy. The first battle of the conflict was the Battle of Basilisk. The battle was notable because it resulted in the death of the Republic's Supreme Chancellor, Jedi Master Sidrona Diath. The conflict also included three battles for Empress Teta and two assaults on Coruscant. The combined forces of the Krath and Sith were finally defeated in the Third Battle for Empress Teta, where the combined Krath and Sith were defeated. Aleema was dead and the remaining Krath were scattered throughout the galaxy.
