World P3069

Hector Von Ricmore stood amongst a horde of Stormtroopers clustered within an Emperor’s Hammer Transport. This was to be his first battle. But despite that he remained relatively calm, releasing his emotions into the Force.

While he had only been with the Order a month, he had optimized that time for lightsaber training. Stimulants taken through his breath mask allowed him to take on a rigorous training schedule, requiring only 2 hours of sleep each day to function.

He had been recruited to the Order for his psychometric powers, the ability to see images and visions of the past. He had little control over the ability but what he did see during training added to his growing experience. He could learn not just from his mistakes, but also the mistakes of others. In a short time he had become quite proficient in the first lightsaber form: Shii-Cho. Enough that he trusted even a training saber to help him survive.

He was garbed in durasteel plate armor, his training lightsaber clipped to his left hip and a blaster pistol holstered to his right. An energy shield was clipped to his belt. His face was covered with a modular breathmask that doubled as a voice synthesizer. His messy black hair was covered with a hood that covered his face.

His appearance set him apart from the sea of white armor around him. And that caught the attention of the trooper.

”Oi, broody. What are you doing with us lot anyway?”

The Kiffar turned to face the trooper. “I’ll be providing you a distraction. I am merely a novice within the Secret Order but I assure you that my skills will allow my to survive alone for a short time against our enemy. Use that time to find or construct cover and begin setting up weapon emplacements.”

The trooper stared behind his helmet. “If you're so eager to get blasted I won’t stop you. But if ya happen to avoid it long enough we’ll save a spot for ya behind the walls.”

Hector nodded, content to wait out the rest of the ride in silence.

When the ramp descended the first thing he noticed was the sounds. Blaster bolts firing, explosions tore the ground, and aircraft streaked overhead. Than came the colors. Flashes of blue, red and green. A splatter of color among a sea of stark white troopers.

Hector rushed down the ramp and pulled his lightsaber to his hand. Gripping the blade with both hands he ignited it; a beam of purple split the air in front of him.

The Kiffar began to slowly advance, batting away one blaster bolt after another. It was not a pace he could keep for long. The sheer volume of blaster fire forced him into a stationary position. He was focused entirely on deflecting the incoming shots. Nothing else mattered.

In his tunnel vision his missed the distinctive glare of a rocket launcher.

The missile slammed into him and exploded, launching him through the air. His energy shield shorted out. And his armor was scuffed and burnt. But the Kiffar was relatively intact.

Rising to his feat, he ignited his saber once again. He began to block shot after shot. But the blaster bolts kept increasing. And increasing. And increasing.

A bolt slipped past his defenses and slammed into his chest, bruising tender flesh underneath.

Hector fell to one knee; an anguished howl left his lips. He continued to block incoming bolts, relying on instinct and the Force.

A flurry of red bolts from behind him slammed into the enemy, mowing down hordes at a time. Two Stormtrooper ran forwards, half carrying and half dragging Hector back to safety.

The outcome of the battle had yet to be determined, but Hector’s distraction had given the Emperor’s Hammer time to set up E-Web blasters and an anti air weapon emplacement.

The Kiffar was carried to a transport. He would receive medical attention for his injuries and be sent to the next area where he was needed.
