Hex 0307 Space

Hector Von Ricmore sat in the cockpit of the A Wing fighter provided to him as a member of Firebird Squadron. He and several other pilots had volunteered for a dangerous mission; to run interference for the Grey Wolf against the Divine Hand flagship.

They had gathered right outside of Hex 0307 and prepared to jump into the system.

As they prepared to jump, a holocommunication was broadcast to the volunteers.

The image of the task force commander shimmered into view. “All fighters listen up. We can’t possibly destroy the Divine Hand we our forces in the area of operation. This mission will be quick and dangerous. Jump into system and provide fighter cover for the Grey Wolf. Once they jump to hyperspace all remaining fighters should follow immediately. No heroics and Godspeed.”

The transmission ended. Hector activated his hyperdrive alongside the other members of the task force.

A mixture of A Wings, X wings and Tie Defenders jumped into Hex 0307. A swarm of Kiliji fighters attacked the Grey Wolf.

The task force swooped in to intercept, firing blaster cannons and forming a fighter screen in front of the Grey Wolf.

The Divine Hand was a massive flagship, of a make that Hector had never seen before. It lobbed turbolasers at its ISDII opponent and point defense lasers made short work of any Emperor’s Hammer pilot who grew too ambitious and moved too close.

Hector accelerated forward, his A wing locking onto a Kiliji fighter targeting a nearby Tie fighter.

Beep beep beep. Target lock achieved.

The A wing spat a salvo from its rapid fire lasers, reducing the enemy shields to offline. A push of a button sent forward twin missiles to obliterate the fighter.

The Kiffar swung back around the front of the Grey Wolf, looking for a target. He opened fire with his lasers at a Kiliji fighter. The pilot swerved around his attack and flew off to safety.

A light on his dashboard glowed. The Grey Wolf had finished charging its hyperdrive and was ready to escape.

Hector activated his own hyperdrive, jumping out of system alongside the damaged but intact ISDII and remaining fighters.
