Clan Taldryan History

The Emperor was a man of many secrets. No-one, not even Darth Vader, knew all of his projects and the full extent of his idealism. The Emperor’s mind was a complex pattern of thoughts and ideas and these were put into practice often without anyone’s knowledge.

Clan Taldryan was originally one of those projects. It’s predecessor was Team Ektrosis. Team Ektrosis was a group of Scientists and Force-gifted agents. The team was created by the Emperor to try and experiment with the Force’s effect on the body and reverse the aging process that was slowly overcoming the Emperor. The members of Ektrosis were willing to sacrifice part of their lives to achieve this end and set out to try and probe deeper into their understanding of the Force. The team retreated to their headquarters and for three years were cut off from the galaxy working on their project. Rumours escaped their headquarters, rumours of unimaginable torment and unspeakable atrocities. Some said Team Ektrosis had created a being made entirely from the Force, others that there were creatures so twisted that they could not die but only live in constant agony. The truth, however, was then and still is shrouded in mystery.

After their three years of work, three years of torment and pain they returned to the Emperor with news of their work. Whatever they expected from him they received what none of them wanted. Their experiments had gone to far and meddled with powers even the Emperor would not touch. Ektrosis were banished from the Empire, from their families and all they knew. They were sent to the very edge of civilisation. There they continued to work on their experiments with what meagre equipment they had. They improvised almost everything and were able to continue to some extent. There were rumours that the land around where they worked withered and faded whereas anything touched by the Force powers they worked with was able to survive.

Years went by and the Emperor was vanquished and killed at Endor. Many were born and died; guilds and fleets began to establish themselves. The Emperor’s Hammer became powerful and news of it’s Dark Brotherhood of Jedi spread far, even to the remnants of Team Ektrosis. And so Ektrosis returned from it’s exile and became House Ektrosis of the Dark Brotherhood. No-one outside of Ektrosis knew the truth about their past but those inside were unwilling to share their dark secrets.

House Ektrosis grew powerful and were eventually strong enough to form Clan Taldryan. Ektrosis took it’s place as the Krath House of the Clan, joined by Dinaari for the Obelisk and Archanis for the Sith. The Clan entered the Brotherhood by winning the Great Jedi War and all are committed to keeping the grand reputation that Ektrosis had before them.

The following does not comply with the current Order of Battle and are traditional possessions from prior to the split.

Headquarters

The centre of all clan activity is the base on the planet Sahare. The Consul and Proconsul of the clan are based here with a small number of elite clan members who act as a honour guard. The building is essentially one large labyrinth. Only those that have lived within the building for years can find their way through its twists and turns. This is an extremely effective security measure.

The Temple of Pomojena

This ancient temple originates from a long time before Imperial domination came to the sector. The contents of the temple dictate that it’s location should be kept a secret. Only the Clan Summit, the Dark Council and the Fleet Commander himself know where it can be found. The temple was built around a gigantic meteor which is believed to have come from the planet Kaiburr. It is full of Kaiburr Crystal deposits which are used in lightsaber construction and as such are in great demand. The only other place known where the crystals can be found is beneath the surface of the planet Kaiburr, where mining is strictly controlled. The temple is constantly guarded by members of Clan Taldryan and a fleet of ships is always in orbit above the planet.

Victory Stardestroyer Cantor
The flagship of the Clan’s fleet is used as a mobile HQ for the clan command staff. It is usually commanded by either the Consul or Proconsul and is the newest addition to the clan fleet. It was a gift from the Grand Master as a reward for winning the Great Jedi War. The Clan named the ship after their former Proconsul, Keirdagh Cantor.

Modified Interdictor Orthanc
This ship is commanded by the Quaestor of House Archanis. It is usually involved in clan missions or patroling the clan system. The ship was formerly owned by Clan CSK and then Clan Arcona who were defeated by Clan Taldryan in battle.

Dreadnaught Dark Seraphim
This ship is assigned to House Dinaari because of its effectiveness in deploying troops while still being able to hold up in a ship-to-ship battle. It is usually found in orbit of the Clan HQ and the Temple of Pomojema. It was a reward to Clan Taldryan from GM Khyron for winning the third Great Jedi War.

Modified Corvette Darkstorm
This was the second ship awarded to Taldryan for their victory in the third Great Jedi War. It is the smallest ship in the fleet and is staffed and commanded by members of House Ektrosis.

Hyperion Fighter
This fighter was named after Hyperion Flight, one of the squadrons in House Archanis. It was designed as a reward for Hyperion winning the Grand Jedi War. They were the only squadron allowed to use these fighters. Hyperion now exists as Apocalypse Squadron in Clan Arcona.
