Lambda Squadron returned back to their quarters after a night out from partying at the Hammers bar. They all retire for the night but not before someone starts to ask a question.

“Hey guys. What's your favorite ship. Mines the TIE Bomber” says Ranger.

“Oh man, that's a good question. The TIE Bomber is pretty good, I'll give you that. But there's nothing like flying a TIE Interceptor. It's the fast Starfighter we have in the fleet!” says Gytheran.

“Yeah the TIE Interceptor is cool I guess. It's got four cannons on it but the hull isn't very strong. One mistake and you're a goner. I'm partial to the TIE Reaper myself, and before you say anything let me stop you there. Shields are vital for making it through hazardous environments, and don't you think for one minute that flying a shieldless craft makes you more macho or more of a man than the next guy. What matters is knowing how to fly” says Xye.

“I like the TIE Fighter.” croaks Wolve

A hush falls over the room as the pilots look over to the lanky Ithorian. Gytheran sits up from his bunk and hangs over the edge.

“So what else do you like about the TIE Fighter? There's gotta be more to it right?” says Gytheran.

“Well… gee. I never gave it much thought.” says Wolve

“Don't get me wrong, it's a nice ship. But they're a dime a dozen! You've had training in other ships right? There's got to be something you like about it.”

“I..like TIE Fighter”

Gytheran rubs his temples in frustration and motions to his squad mates.

“Guys help me out here. Ranger, you've flown TIE Fighters your whole career. What do you like about them? ”

“A TIE Fighter? Huh, I never really gave it much thought either. I guess if I had to pick something, their… hatch opens nice?”

Ranger looks over to Gytheran and gives him an unsure shrug and pulls out a data pad from under his pillow. He begins loading schematics of different TIE models and begins to compare them.

“The hatch?? The hatch is standard on all of the TIEs!” says Gytheran, angrily.

Gytheran folds his arms and huffs. Wolve sits up from his bunk and stands up.

“Actually, I don't like the TIE Fighter that much. I'm too tall, when I sit in the cockpit my knees are in my face. I think I like the TIE Reaper more, it has better leg room.” croaked Wolve.

“Wolve you're talking out of both mouths again. So you prefer the TIE Reaper over the TIE Fighter?” says Gytheran

“Yeah” replied Wolve.

“Well at least you have a reason. Hey Ranger, come to think of it, you never said why you like the TIE Bomber. Let's hear it.” said Gytheran

Ranger looks up from his data pad and shows Gytheran an image of a TIE Bomber, pointing at the data pad.

“Oh man the TIE Bomber? What's not to like about it! Just look at this beauty. First of all, it has the strongest hull. This baby can tank laser blasts like nobody's business, who needs shields? I once flew and took on a whole squadron of rebels by myself, I took a few hits but when the crew checked the damage, they said it barely got hit. Now that's craftsmanship.

“See now that's a good reason for-” said Gytheran, before getting cut off by Ranger

“And another thing about the TIE Bomber is the bombs!! Have you guys dropped proton bombs before?? It's the best!! One time I was fighting a rebel X-Wing and the pilot thought he was slick flying under me. Well to his surprise I dropped a proton bombs right on top of him!! Never saw it coming. That's one of my best kills.” said Ranger.

“oh yeah I remember that. That reminds me of the time when-” says Gytheran, before getting cut off for a second time by Ranger.

“Oh oh and the rotary cannon!! Forget about regular lasers, using rotary cannons completely melts capital ships. Remember that time we took on an MC-75? When you guys blew up their shield generators I cut a giant hole with my cannons. Took apart their command bridge in seconds!! Haha!! That was so much fun. says Ranger very excitedly.

A hush falls over the room yet again.

“So what about you guys, you like the TIE Bomber too? asked Ranger.

Everyone looks at Ranger and rolls their eyes simultaneously. Wolve rolls back into bed, Gytheran sits back down on his bunk. Xye fell asleep shortly after making his comments about the TIE Reaper and was fast asleep.

“Oh man, I did it again. Sorry guys. I just really like the TIE Bomber.” says Ranger.

“We know!” says Lambda Squadron in unison.

Gytheran claps and shuts off the lights, everyone turns in for the night and goes to sleep. A small light illuminates from Rangers bunk as he continues looking over schematics of the TIE Bomber.

“Gee, this ship is really cool” says Ranger quietly.
