Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.014
Report date: May 10, 2015
High Admiral Dempsey stepped off the ramp of her personalized transport, and set foot on the decks of the Victory class Star Destroyer Sinister for the first time in a long while. She looked around, realizing she'd come to miss this ship. The Hammer was a good ship, but it was just a bit too big for her taste. And after all, the Sinister could easily match the Hammer in firepower, so that wasn't a concern.
A few meters before her, an officer stood at salute. She nodded, and he lowered his arm to a more comfortable position. She walked past him to the bridge. Once their, she looked over the bridge crew. Almost as if she had never left.
"Admiral," the Captain said as he stepped towards her. "It's good to have you back aboard the Sinister, sir!"
Dempsey nodded. "It won't be for long, Captain," she said. "The TCCOM has something planned. I'm not sure what it is, but I expect we will
need to be ready for something big."
The Captain smiled. "We are always ready, sir." War games and battle drills run as always, and efficiency continues to go up with each drill."
"Good." Dempsey said. She took another look around, and then walked off the bridge to return to her private quarters.
Well, another week has passed, and I am in eager anticipation of the MSE medals for this month. All squadron MSEs have been received and processed. Now it's up to the SOO and TCCOM to have their say in the matter. Stay tuned!
In the mean time, a steady stream of medals keeps pouring in, and the first few dozen Legions of Skirmish have been awarded. The last few bug were ironed out of the code for the processing and submitting of them, and the coop killboard now works as it should too. Next up: messing around with the email system.
It's too bad many of the SC flying Hammer pilots still have not made their HoR submissions part of their weekly routine. Which is of course good for me as it gives me a shot at getting some myself. Still, I'd like to see better in this! It's also good for LCM Doc who sweeped the competition this week, earning the IS-SW in all five categories!
More StarConflict news to those who play: May 10 (start: 15:00 UTC) and May 11 (end 23:00 UTC) is Golden Battles day. 20 victories will earn you 200 Gold Standards!
It's good to see that the returning members of the TIE Corps are also making their mark. CPT Mauser has got a firm foot in the door when it comes to SP flying, and both MAJ Cruise and LCM Chrome are racking up some wins in StarConflict. Good going folks!
This week also saw a few new TIE free missions released to the compendium, courtesy of CM Hawkins, who continues his efforts to convert all the old X-wing missions to the TIE Fighter format, and tweaking them so this time, those damned Rebels lose! Aside from that, he has also done that which no one has done before: custom audio has now been added to the possibilities. Unfortunately, it does require the audio files to be on your hard drive, so this only works for the GoG version and Steam version of TIE Fighter. You can of course burn yourself a new TIE CD with the new audio files if you don't have those two and still want to use the new audio files!
Last week, I also ran a script through the TC database that recalculated all the FCHG points accumulated by all pilots, and determined their new ranks in both the Fleet Commander's Honor Guard and the Combat ratings. For most pilots in higher tier ranks, this means they will have dropped some to a lot. I was fortunate enough to not lose my Imperator rank, and neither was VA Zosite, the only other Imperator, but the same could not be said for my CR rank. Where I had finally grabbed the coveted rank of Tan, I am now back down to Elite 1st. And alas, the other Tan members did not retain their ranks either.
Lastly for this week, Raise the Flag 2015 is coming closer. If you've read the TCCOM and SOO reports, I do believe they are hinting
at a storyline for this month long competition. I urge all Hammer pilots to consider their options for this month. If you can, try to get some more
of your precious free time allotted to TC activity, and fly some more than you usually do. Remember, last year we lost, and I would hate to have to see the
Warrior take down this competition two years in a row!

Dempsey's Weekly Riddles
Every week, the report will have a riddle. First pilot to send the correct answer to the mailing list wins. Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
This week's riddle: You have been given two identical pieces of metal, yet one of the two is a magnet and the other is not. Without any other tools to use, how can you figure out which of the two is the magnet?
Last week's winner: AD Elwood the Brave
Current standings: AD Woody: 6; LC Clark, CM Hawkins: 2; HA Bonini, GN Pickled Yoda, COL La'an, LC Tempest, CPT Fenn, CM Jast, LCM Doc, LT Archenksov: 1
Hammer on Recon
Submit your StarConflict screenshots to me. For Domination and Beacon Hunt, the highest number of captures wins. For PvE, Team Battle and Combat Recon, the highest number of "kills" wins, with assists counting for half a kill (rounded up). Submissions not earning a medal will earn an activity point. First place wins an IS-SW, 2nd a IS-BW (with 2 submissions or more, otherwise IS-BW for first). Submissions earn 4 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 2 pts for 3rd and 1 pt for others. At the end of the month, the top 3 MP flyers will earn an IS-GW, IS-SW and IS-BW. 10 activity points wins an IS-BW and every 50th activity point will earn an IS-SW. Tie breakers: kills for Domination and Beacon Hunt, Captain Kill or pure kills for Team Battle and Combat Recon.
