RECONNAISSANCE OFFICE REPORT #1

REPORTING OFFICER: Rear Admiral Alexandre Morgan, CS-6

DATE SUBMITTED: 03.15.2024

FROM THE D/CRV DOOMSDAY

(It was a new desk, one he wasn't used to quite yet. He had stood in front of it countless times as the Recon Office Attaché, but for as long as he could remember, it was always TheBlackxRanger who sat on the other side.

He eased himself into the padded chair behind the desk. Reaching out, he turned the nameplate at the front of the desk around. It had just been manufactured, and still shone with the lack of fingerprints. It read 'Rear Admiral Alexandre Morgan' across the middle, and in smaller type beneath that, 'Reconnaissance Officer.'

The thrum of the ship's deck was palpable through the dress uniform boots he had on. That feeling was familiar to him, at least - he'd been aboard the D/CRV countless times, meeting with his then-superior, and had grown accustomed to the craft. The sheer technological wizardry that it stood for still amazed him, but he knew the halls of the modified Corellian Corvette well enough that he could probably navigate them with his eyes closed and at least avoid wandering into an airlock.

In front of him on the desk was a data-pad and a hologram projector. The both of them were built into the dark wood, slightly recessed. Keying the power button on the pad and opening a blank page, he began to type out his first report as the head of his office.)

Pilots of the TIE Corps, Warriors of the Secret Order, and Command Staff:

It's an honor to have been given this opportunity to serve as the Recon Officer. During the past year as a Recon Office Assistant and later as the Attaché, I've been able to exercise my passion in this field and grow my abilities. All I've learned, however, is credit to the now-Fleet Admiral TheBlackxRanger. I'd like to thank him for his exemplary service as the RO, and I can only hope to mimic his success and ability in this position.

The past couple of weeks have been pretty busy! In this report I'll highlight the biggest internal and external events, activities, and releases; briefly talk about some Recon Office logistics, and a bit more here and there. Thanks for tuning in, and I'll see you on the other side.

For the Empire! Long may it reign!

STAR WARS GAMES RELEASED

Nightdive Studios has collaborated with LucasArts to publish a remaster of the old Dark Forces shooter games! The game features not only upscaled graphics, but a bit of new content and modernized mechanics as well. Available on most standard gaming platforms, it does not have cross-platform compatibility but does feature cross-generation, allowing for different iterations of respective console platforms to play together. Click here to watch the official launch trailer.

Continuing the trend of remastered games, Aspyr Media has developed and published Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection. A synthesis of the original two Battlefront games, this version features revived online gameplay, single player modes, and much more, allowing fans of the original games to relive the nostalgia. Click here for a launch trailer from PlayStation.

OTHER STAR WARS MEDIA

What has been confirmed to be the final season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch has been released and is currently about halfway through its episode releases! Coming out in the middle of each week, the show promises to be the epic conclusion of the series. Check out the trailer for Season 3 here.

On the physical media side of things, Star Wars: The High Republic comics and books continue to release at a rapid pace! Instead of listing them all out here, I'll instead provide a synthesized source for your own perusal. Visit here to see an official list and reading order of the entire Star Wars subsection that includes both the novels and the comics.

UPCOMING STAR WARS MEDIA

For the fans of the physical side of media, both Kenobi and Andor have been released in Blu-ray and 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray. Both of these DVDs will come with several bonus featurettes and exclusive concept art cards. These will become available on April 30th online and in retail stores. This StarWars.com article details the contents of the boxes and how to pre-order them.

Currently planned for a 2024 release date, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew has been officially described as "the story of four kids who find themselves lost in the vastness of the galaxy trying to find their way home." Set after the events of Return of the Jedi, the show will feature Jude Law and be directed by John Watts and Christopher Ford.

Set at the end of the High Republic era, Star Wars: The Acolyte will begin to set the stage for the emerging darkness and threats to the Republic and the balance of power. Slated to come out sometime during 2024, this show is rumored to consist of eight episodes. Here is the most recent article from StarWars.com about the show and its casting.

This academic-style book about the history of the Galactic Empire will become available on July 9, but can be pre-ordered on Amazon here already. It will focus on detailing the often-overlooked functions and operations of the Empire, as well as sweeping through its grand history and accomplishments. More information can be found in this StarWars.com article.

Alongside these above incoming Blu-ray DVDs, shows, and books, Ahsoka and Andor are both confirmed to be receiving second seasons. Both are currently projected to come after 2024, however. The Recon Office will keep you up to date as those approach, but for now, read about those projects and other projects in development in this article from IGN.
