News

o   Obelisk Order Closing – GM Hades announced today that the Obelisk Order would be closing. I’m sure we’re all saddened to hear that news and regret that the Obelisks didn’t generate enough activity on their own to continue. If there were another option I’m sure Hades would have taken it, and let me encourage everyone to avoid recrimination here. There hasn’t been any activity in the Obelisk ranks for quite some time, despite repeated attempts to revive activity. I’m sure if we wanted to point fingers blame can be placed virtually everywhere, but that doesn’t change anything, nor does it help us move forward. The best way to respond especially if you disagree is to get active, take the lead in Obelisk style activities and keep them going. In the aftermath of the news, members wishing to stay active will either become Sith or Krath. Sith if they are interested in gaming and multiplayer events and Krath if they are more interested in writing and role playing elements. Make them welcome as they join your ranks and help them get situated in their new environment if you would.

For those of you that are currently Obelisks, you’ll need to contact GM Hades directly to let him know your choice of a new Order. He’ll be handling reassignment. If I can help or answer any questions, please contact me. I can’t directly reassign you of course but I’ll do whatever I can to hurry the process or find answers to your inquiries if I don’t have them already.

o   The House has a New Aedile! – This week with GM Hades approval I elevated Sith Warrior Tuba to Aedile of House Drakonan. For those of you that missed my announcement email, that means that from now on all communication to the Summit should be directed to Tuba as well as myself and you should treat him with the same respect you’d treat me, possibly more because he’s a much more personable guy than I am. ;)

Description:
Grand Master Hades will be reading the "Black Rock" run on posts and judging who had the best entries in several categories, including Best Individual post, Best Team Player, Best Action Scene, and perhaps a few others. So write often and well so he has a plethora of choices for his categories.

Activities

               There’s a RUN ON on the message board forum!  Go write and be happy, remember each post counts towards Sword of Drakonan points.

There are several flying competitions active so warm up your engines and grab your flight stick and go get some medals!

               Keep in mind that if you are a pilot, Battles and missions can be submitted as both TC and DB activity for the same mission, so be sure to deluge your BTL (and me) with cc: s of anything you fly.

               There are always courses available to be taken in the EH university of your choice for activity.

Final Thoughts

               We’ve seen a lot of change in the last week, and I suspect we’ll see more as time goes by. Some of the change was positive and a great event for the House like Tuba, becoming Aedile. Some was negative, like the unfortunate but necessary closing of the Obelisk team and Order. But the thing about change is that its going to happen whether we agree with it or not, so its best to move forward once it has and focus on our common goals of fun, socialization, and growth. If you want your voices heard then the best way to make that happen is to be an active and involved member of this House and the Dark Brotherhood as a whole, otherwise change will keep occurring and you’ll be left sitting in its wake, and that’s not a very enjoyable place to be. So with that in mind I’d like to once again state how I’m convinced we have one of the best selections of members in a long time in this House, and challenge each of you to use those talents to  get active again. Show everyone what  a good pilot you are, or duelist, or commando, or writer, etc. Socialize and get to know one another, start a discussion or just chat in a game lobby. Get active and make use of your talents and let myself and our new Aedile know what you’re interested in, what you care about, what you like and dislike about the Dark Brotherhood. Otherwise we won’t know and odds are you won’t ever be entirely happy. The funny thing about building something is that when you help haul the heavy bricks and help make decisions about what goes where, you’re usually a lot happier with how things turn out and even the work itself becomes an enjoyable part of the process.  Just food for thought….
