Congratulations to the two new Governor Generals in Setii. Mane Fen has been appointed GG of Ashtar and SDMorier is now GG of Osiris.

Unfortunately we lost the expected activity of the previous GG's but hopefully, as they both assure me, the new Governors will do their very best. Im pleased to have you both as GG's in the system.

I have created the Member Statistics Page . It has functions that show DGA Course Complete Stats, Game Stats (what members own what games), and a Medal Board. Everything seems to be working, but I had to learn a few things in order to create the Game and Medal Stats pages, so if you find any errors let me know!

Links on the NavMenu have also been updated and I gave the Stats and Fiction Archive Pages a division of their own.

there has been an influx of people applying for open spot on the Ministry Council, and there support staff. now since the GMF has not open up these Closed positions to apps. So people bugging the Ministry Council about these positions may find there chances of getting these positions diminished when the GMF opens up the positions  to applications. - main resion behind not having adjutants at the moment is the DIR is too small in size compared to what it was before.

And now, by popular request, a new ethics question! I'll try to update them more often, I promise.

Duke Farrin Xies, the Grand Moff of the Directorate of the Emperor's Hammer, adjusted the magnificent silver robes of his office on his slight figure, flanked on either side at some distance by stormtroopers of his security detail, their polished armor painted the same color as his robes and glinting in the light of the hallway as they walked to the huge main hall of the New Imperial Palace. The young man paused in front of the large ornate wooden doors, the symbol of the Emperor's Hammer carved in them and inlaid with gold. On the other side of the door were all of the Governors of the Emperor's Hammer Territories, members of the Command Staff, the Ministry Council... perhaps even the Fleet Commander himself. All were here for the bestowment of a rank never before given in the entire lifetime of the Directorate. Farrin took a moment to compose himself before he nodded to the two stormtroopers at the door - more members of his detail.

As they opened the huge doors, the Chamberlain of the Palace rapped his scepter of office against the marble floor twice in quick succession. In a loud, booming voice that filled the hall, he announced, "May I present Lord Farrin Xies, Duke of Aurora, Grand Moff of the Directorate of the Emperor's Hammer." Ten of his personal guard formed a circle around him as the Duke of Aurora - the same person who, less than fifteen years ago, was a young man on Naboo contemplating staying with his parents and joining the Rebellion or entering the Imperial Intelligence Academy - strode down the aisle and approached the raised dais in the front center of the hall.

Farrin cleared his throat before beginning his address without the aid of notes. What he had to say came from the heart, anyway. "Members of this esteemed body - Governors of the Territories, members of the Ministry Council, Command Staffers, and welcome guests. We are gathered her on this beautiful eve to recognize one of our own for his exemplery service to the Directorate and to the Emperor's Hammer at large. I cannot say enough, nor anything differently than I have already about this man, so I will keep it simple."

From his robes, Farrin produced a rolled piece of parchment - real parchment, amazingly rare in today's age. Unrolling it and clearing his throat again, he read from it, "I, Farrin Xies, the Grand Moff of the Directorate of the Emperor's Hammer, hereby recognize former Grand Moff Duke Czulvang Lah's achievements to this body as a whole. Therefore, I decree that he shall hence for be known as Grand Duke Czulvang Lah, Grand Duke of Aurora." Farrin was hardly able to finish over the rousing applause and standing ovation Czulvang received as he walked to the dais.

The Directorate has never had a person achieve the rank of Grand Duke, the top rank in our rank structure. When I think of a model member who absolutely deserves the rank I think of our recent Grand Moff Czulvang Lah. The promotion to Grand Duke, however, is something I cannot simply fiat, even as Grand Moff. Per the Directorate Manual, the Ministry Council must first unanimously vote to bestow this rank upon a member - which it has - and then the proposition must be presented to the membership as a whole - which it is right now - in order for them to vote on it. A simple majority is required to finally allow Czul to become the first Grand Duke in the history of the Emperor's Hammer (as far as I know). Please direct all votes to me here so that I may tally them.

Czulvang Lah stood in the Imperial Capitol. To those in the great assembly he was their leader, and he held in his hand...a piece of flimsiplast bearing the seal of the Fleet Commander.

 Looking down, he read from the sheet:

By order of the Fleet Commander of the Emperor's Hammer, Grand Admiral Astatine, and his Executive Officer, Sector Admiral Cyric, you, Farrin Xies, are hereby appointed Grand Moff of the Emperor's Hammer Territories, and are granted the rank and title Duke of Aurora.

In accordance with Imperial Law, you are also granted the naval rank of Vice Admiral, and all the rights and privileges of a Subgroup Commander of that rank.

Serve the Empire above all others - failure is not acceptable.

As he finished, a man clad in magnificent silver robes bearing the Crest of Aurora, the symbol of the Grand Moff, stepped forward.

Turning to the thousands gathered, Czulvang shouted, "I present to you, Duke Farrin Xies of Aurora, Grand Moff of the Emperor's Hammer Territories."

...and there was much rejoicing.

The time has come to end my term as Grand Moff. I have served in that position for a year, and it has been the most rewarding experience of my EH career. I have had the pleasure of working with the most dedicated Subgroup Commander Staff I have ever seen, some of the best Role-Players in the EH, and more importantly, some of the friendliest (if slightly insane :P) members in the Emperor's Hammer.

 

I won't bore you with a list of things I've done in that time, since not even I care to remember all of them, and also, this isn't exactly the end of my DIR career. There are still a number of projects that have not been completed, and I intend to see those through, as well as continuing on as the primary “website guy” in the DIR for years to come. So if you find any database errors, you can still send them to czulvanglah@gmail.com and I will fix them. (I'm the only one who can, so..send them there.)

 

As I type this, Farrin has already been appointed Grand Moff by Grand Admiral Astatine, as per the arrangements that were made several weeks ago. He is a much better person to lead the Directorate into the future than I was, and I know he will do well. He has his work cut out for him, but the DIR is a group like no other, and I know he will receive exceptional levels of help from the Territories and Ministry Council.

 

So here's to Owen Khan, whose term as GMF and subsequent resignation gave me my opportunity to run this great group, and to Cyric and Ast, for trusting me with this job. Many thanks to Dark Angel, for the excellent work he did in creating our new website, and to Leeson and Mouse Droid for their assistance in the upkeep of our old website. Also, thanks to Keldorn, whose work on the Assembly project, though still unfinished, has kept it alive, and to Farrin for his work MoE, DGMF, and GG. Many, many thanks to Laan, whose work on the Systems Manual (which he and I will continue to work on) has been some of the most impressive impromptu fiction I have ever seen, thanks to Adrian Tepes, without whose work the Territories would still be in chaos, and to Exar Kit (aka. Defast Insite), who was my top advisor and friend throughout my time as GMF, and also the only person to sit on the MC from my time as DGMF to the end of my reign as GMF. Though much of your work is in the form of advice and smaller projects that are not as evident to the general membership, Exy, I know there were times I wouldn't have been able to keep working without your support.

Finally, thanks to the members of the Directorate, whose interest has taken this group from nothing to something. Though you may not form the largest group in the EH, you do form the most imaginative, active, and diverse, which is your great strength. Take advantage of your great opportunities here. Talk to your immediate superiors and the GMF. Tell them your thoughts. Work together for the future of the DIR.
