"The Battle Comes To An Explosive End

We all know that Star Wars Galaxies will end on December 15th, 2011, but did you know that how Star Wars Galaxies ends is up to you?

Beginning in September, the ongoing Galactic Civil War will escalate further as both sides seek to decisively win the epic conflict. In addition to all of the current Galactic Civil War activities, new events and contests will provide you with new ways to earn Galactic Civil War points and advantages you can use to help your side win.

At a time and date yet to be announced, but prior to December 15th, all Galactic Civil War points will be tallied by server. The side with the higher score will win the game, and the galaxy, for each server, as well as change the way the game will end and what happens in the final moments. Celebrations will be in order for those who win and, for the losers, let’s just say they’ll be going out with a bang.

Neutral players will also see new decorations in the Storyteller system that will allow them to host their own shutdown events if they choose to opt out of the final battles in the Galactic Civil War.

Suit up, grab your blasters or lightsabers, or get to your ships. Never before has taking bases or winning battles meant so much. Every kill counts now. Every moment counts. The fate of the galaxy is in your hands."

Don't Miss out on the big finale!!!

Complete galactic supremacy is at hand!
The Galactic Civil War (GCW) will conclude on December 15, 2011, with a decisive victor. Be there on the front lines!
To be eligible to fight you must have an active Star Wars Galaxiesâ„¢ account in good standing (meaning fully paid and not banned) as of September 15, 2011.
From September 15 until December 15, players on each server will fight to earn their faction the top spot in the final GCW standings.
Capture bases, win PvP battles and decimate the enemy to earn GCW points and have your faction declared the final victor of your server.
Whichever faction wins determines the final events in the game - the outcome is determined by you!
Many additional bonus activities and neutral player events will also be included to ensure a good time is had by all!
Don't miss out on your chance for glory. Fight to the end to determine the fate of the galaxy. We'll be battling right beside you!

Addendum: And while this needs researching the EH as a whole will for the most part ignore it. Most other digital distribution systems (steam, impulse, etc.) have similar EULA policies and all of you use those... I am sure like others in the past that EA has put out this will be amended to be at least partially acceptable probably with an Opt out option like Steam has.

The Security Office is issuing an alert for EA's Origin digital distribution platform. The programs EULA give EA the right to collect information from your computer, including IP address, Operating system, application usage software, and other information. Also the EULA allows them to share this information with any third party they like.

This is completely unacceptable as there’s no opt out other than not using Origin, which is required for upcoming games like Battlefield 3. Until EA stops this practice or includes an opt out feature, the Security Office advises avoiding Origin.

With the resignation of GA Cyric, and after speaking with him at length, I hereby approve his recommendation to immediately promote SA Rapier to the Rank of Grand Admiral and appointed to the position of Fleet Commander of the Emperor's Hammer, pursuant to our Bylaws, with the all the rights and privileges thereof.

The EH CS should also immediately implement the command change and update their websites, documents, manuals, etc. accordingly.

We all wish GA Rapier the best of luck in his new position and I for one am dying to see what he is planning for our EH TOR Guild!

Thanks to Cyric!

Fellow EHers,

I have spoken to both Cyric and Rapier on telephone over the past few days and I am extremely sorry to see Cyric resign as FC. I understand his RL time constraints and his having accomplished what he wanted to when he set out as FC when we needed it most.  I have relied upon his sound advice and have really enjoyed our many talks on the phone through the years. He has been a trusted confidant, advisor and friend and I truly am grateful to have both known him and have him lead the EH the past few (turbulent) years.

Cyric will be sorely missed as FC but his recommendation for Rapier to take over as FC is a great choice! I spoke with Rapier last week and have every confidence he has the ability, drive and enthusiasm to lead the EH through TOR and beyond...:)
My sincerest thanks to Cyric for all his hard work over the years and please be reminded that he will be staying on as an EH Trustee...hopefully for many years to come!
Peace...

GA Ronin and member of the Emperor's Hammer

I have been a member of the Emperor's Hammer for over 13 years. I started in the club as a SL in the TC, Krayt Squadron, Commander of Krayt Squadron, served on the ISD Intrepid as Wing Commander, Commodore of the ISD Greywolf, BGCOM of the ASF, Flight Officer of the EH, Executive Officer of the EH and as your Fleet Commander. I even did a minor stint with the Dark Brother Hood many years ago. In that time I have seen a great deal of the good, the bad and the ugly in this club. Through it all the membership has always made it unique, fun and enjoyable. The EH has survived because of its adaptability, though at times stinted, it has managed to progress. This is in large part due to the selfless dedication of many members, through out the years. Selfless acts of generosity from people giving their time and expertise to aid this club, through good times and bad. The club has become a second home of sorts for me though, as of late, I haven't been on line as much as I'd like, it was always a good time to get on mIRC chat with people that had similar interests in the Star Wars realm.

During my time as Fleet Commander I wanted to accomplish three main objectives: 1) to make sure that the club would continue to be viable through all of the turmoil of years past. I feel that this has been accomplished. We've navigated through some turbulent waters and have a sound structure in place to legitimize ourselves in future gaming endeavors while maintaining our steep, rich, rooted history. 2) Set forth a guideline for a new, versatile database which would encompass everything that was lost with new features that could be tied into and encompass all of our groups. This will allow all members to view all activity in any area of the EH in ONE place. With the help of so many people, most notably SA Rapier and HA Zsinj, this has been accomplished. 3) To make sure that everything lost was found again and to have the EH in the forefront of new platforms. Though I can really take no credit here, the idea that we can use and incorporate TOR among other platforms is and will be a reality for the EH. I've also opened up the club with Non-Star Wars type platforms for members to play, hopefully get credit for, as well as, gaining exposure to the EH.

I did not agree with or want the club to regress back to a paradigm shift that was in the past. I demanded that the club move forward. It needed to change and in that change unpopular decisions needed to be made. Not everyone agreed with things, but at the end of the day I didn't care, the Club IS better now strategically than it ever was. It needs to be populated.

I've never done anything that would harm the club and everything that has been done has been for the well being and fitness of the collective whole. To that end, a good leader knows when he can no longer be effective. With the release of TOR and the future of gaming as I see it, I must in good conscious resign my position as Fleet Commander of the Emperor's Hammer. This was not an easy decision to make, however, I am ill equipped to lead the Emperor's Hammer into the next chapter of its existence. I was never comfortable with just up and leaving the club listing, without someone who truly cares about the club and its well being. I didn't see anyone with the passion or desire to make the club better, to move forward and not regress. Hence my decision to stay as long as I had. Today, I have that person in Rapier. I have requested to the founder of the club, GA Ronin, that SA Rapier be promoted to the rank of GA and be given the title of Fleet Commander. I have no doubt in his ability and certainly no reservations or concerns about his intent for the future of this club.

I respectfully tender my resignation. Good luck to each and everyone of you and long live the Emperor's Hammer.

The EH now supports non-Star Wars games as part of what you can do for activity within the club. The games are:

FPS:

Jedi Outcase

Jedi Academy

Battlefront II

Battlefield 2

Battlefield 2142

Battlefield Bad Company 2

Battlefield 3 (when released in October)

Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare) and it's Star Wars mod

Call of Duty 6 (Modern Warfare 2)

Call of Duty 7 (Modern Warfare: Black Ops)

Call of Duty 8 (Modern Warefare 3: when it releases in November)

Team Fortress 2 (It is free to play through Steam and it's 4 years old so most anyones system should handle it.)

RTS:

Empire at War

Rebellion

Sins of a Solar Empire

Dawn of War 1 and 2

Starcraft II

Flight Sims:

X-Wing

Tie Fighter

X-Wing vs Tie Fighter

X-Wing Alliance

FreeWorlds (star wars freelance mod)

FreeSpace 2 (available for 6 dollars from GOG.com)

Allegience

MMORPG:

The Old Republic

Star Wars Galaxies (till it closes but from what I hear from Ronin I can quote Scotty in Wrath of Khan... It's dead already)

For right now all I want to do is find out who is playing these games and what kind of player base we can build on them. So please were an [EH] tag while playing them and tell the people you play with about us. If we can build a good group of players we can work on a structure and procedure for awarding participation.

Everyone,
I would like to welcome Admiral Jacob Van Nowak into the TC Admiralty Board . He will be taking the position of Dean and will be working with getting new recruits into the Corps.

He will be responsible for helping new recruits and veterans throughout the training offered in the EH under IWATS. In addition, he is able to approve competitions and will be working with me on competitions going forward as an adviser and help if needed.

With Dean filled that leaves one more position on the Board open, I am now on the hunt once again for an SOO.
The SOO will be required to be the primary liaison between the Commanders. Report, promotions and medal request handling will be the
primary duty of the SOO and will be charged with helping run activities to keep the Corps active while I design fleet wide
competitions and work on how we can incorporate activity from new platforms etc.

Also, for all members who are interested in multiplayer activity, I am now in control of the EH battlestats.com group. I will be signing us
up for Weeks of War and any other competitions requested. If there is a special competition you want to get in on, I'll help out.

I would also like to remind everyone about the inter-club gaming event (ICGE) that is happening every Saturday in the Undernet channel :

Please let me know if you have any questions about multiplayer activities!
